Barry Young: Crown Agreed to Cross-Examine Me on the Data - Then Backed Out the Day Before

In this clip, Barry Young describes a key sequence in his ongoing case. After submitting a detailed file of objections showing major problems with the Crown’s evidence, a callover was held on 3 February, 2026.

When the Judge asked whether the Crown wished to cross-examine Barry on that material, there was a long silence before the prosecutor agreed. A voir dire was set for 14 May.

The day before the hearing, the Crown reversed course and stated they no longer wanted to question him.

Barry notes that three months were effectively wasted, and that the Crown continues to label his evidence “misinformation” while still refusing to engage with or ask questions about the underlying data.

He asks a simple question: isn’t the Crown’s role to seek the truth?

Barry Young’s Direct Message to Christopher Luxon & Winston Peters: “Look at the Data”
