For mom I walked with grief today, among the rain-soaked pines and the twisted branches of maritime breezes. Your ashes almost glistened as they fell along the roots of that tree, while a symphony of birdsong orchestrated your eulogy. The sand laden path of roots and pine needles cushioned my weary steps, as I celebrated your new life, while mourning my first Mother's Day without you....
