We are proud to announce the Top 20 paintings selected in the July/August Modern Impressionist Salon, judged by acclaimed artist Richard Musgrave Evans Richard Musgrave-Evans

The level of work submitted this month was truly exceptional, and we’re incredibly proud of each artist who earned a place in the Top 20.

All Top 20 paintings will be published in Modern Impressionist Magazine, celebrating the artists and their outstanding work with our readers around the world.

And the winners will be announced soon.

Congratulations to our Top 20 and thank you to every artist who continues to make the Modern Impressionist Salon such a grand celebration of Impressionist painting.

We arrived in Umbria, Italy today and very inspired to begin the week painting at our workshop retreat in Gubbio, Italy.
With internationally renowned artists Haidee-Jo Summers and Joe Gyurcsak instructing.
They call Umbria the green heart of Italy and it truly is magnificent.
This spectacular castle steeped in history can be seen in the distance.
Its grounds make up more than 1600 acres of pristine nature. Forests, walking paths, gardens and rolling Italian vistas, where we will make our home this week.
We look forward to seeing you all here!

The 2026 Grand prize “Modern Impressionist of the Year”award and $10,000 cash prize, awarded this winter in the Bahamas. The winner will also receive an exclusive trip to be flown to the Bahamas to claim their award.
First Place each month receives $1,000 cash plus a feature article in Modern Impressionist Magazine, with additional cash prizes for Second and Third Place, three Honorable Mentions, and the Top 20 published in the magazine. The top 40 artists will also be recognized.

Our Belgium Workshop Retreat has just come to a close, and what an unforgettable week it has been.

We were fortunate to share this experience with such a wonderful group of talented artists and truly lovely people. To everyone who joined us and entrusted us with your experience, thank you. It was a privilege to spend this week with you.

A very special thank you to our instructor, Lori Putnam Lori Putnam Art. Lori gave so much of herself throughout the week, working individually with each artist and offering thoughtful, personal guidance. She is not only an exceptional artist and instructor, but an incredibly kind and caring person.

We also want to express our sincere appreciation to our chef, Olivia, and her wonderful team for their tireless work throughout the retreat and for creating such beautiful, high-quality meals for us each day.

It was a week filled with painting, learning, wonderful food, new friendships, and memories we will carry with us for a long time.

Thank you, Belgium!
