The President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, has reaffirmed his Pan-African vision and solidarity with the global African diaspora, declaring that Burkina Faso’s struggle is part of a broader fight for the liberation and dignity of the Black race.
Addressing Afrodescendants during the “Welcome Home” event in Ouagadougou on Friday, President Traoré warmly welcomed hundreds of visitors whom he referred to as “700 Burkina Faso Ambassadors.”
The delegation, composed of Afrodescendants from across the Americas, the Caribbean, and Europe, expressed their admiration and support for the Burkinabè leader, pledging to invest, live, and contribute to the development of the Land of Upright People.
In a major gesture of solidarity, Captain Traoré announced a policy change benefiting the visiting diaspora:
> “On the permanent resident card, we have decided to remove the financial condition for you.”
He emphasized that Burkina Faso continues to resist, stand firm, and live despite growing challenges, symbolizing the enduring spirit of African unity and independence.
Reiterating the broader purpose of his leadership, Traoré declared:
> “The fight in Burkina Faso is a fight for endurance and for the real and total liberation of the Black Man.
We are not fighting for Burkina Faso alone — we are fighting for Africa,
for the dignity of the Black man,
and for the well-being of our people.”
President Traoré’s remarks have resonated deeply across the continent and among Afrodescendants worldwide, reinforcing Burkina Faso’s emerging role as a symbol of resistance and hope for a self-reliant Africa.
