Research has found that India’s GenZ don’t believe in long-term love.Relationships have become like Instagram stories: “Here today, gone tomorrow”. Talking about relationships, half of the GenZ respondents in a survey were not serious about their relationships. In fact, the number of people in serious relationships dropped from 26% in 2019 to 13% in 2021. According to another study of Gen Z from India, around 66% of respondents accept that “not all relationships will be permanent”. The Taut’s Saurav Das explains what do India’s Gen Z want.

Russia has not at all been happy with attempts by the US and European Union to make Ukraine part of NATO. Because doing so would have meant keeping Ukraine out of Russian control.Ukraine is like a buffer between Russia and Western powers like the US and Europe. In a response to an RTI application, the Government of India (GoI) has revealed that the Yogi Adityanath led Uttar Pradesh (U.P.) government reduced the utilisation of funds received from the GoI under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) in every single year of its tenure. These funds had been granted to the State government for development projects for minority communities. In the final year of its current term, the total utilisation fell to an unprecedented zero.

Amid media blackout, India is witnessing massive youth protests in several states and the anger is only rising, perhaps turning violent in some cases. Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy- revealed that by December 2021- there were at least 53 million or 5.3 crore Indians that were unemployed. That’s an unemployment rate of 7.9%. On the flip side, the Oxfam International’s “Inequality Kills’’ report reveals that during the pandemic, the wealth of Indian billionaires increased from Rs 23 lakh crores to 53 lakh crores. This, while 4.3 crore Indians have fallen into extreme poverty in 2020 and 84% of Indian households saw a decline in their incomes. We produced more than half of world’s new poor.
