Right folks, this is it. There will be no encore. After months of consideration, I have made the decision to bring Nevermind Polly Podcast to its natural conclusion and lay this venture to rest.
I started this podcast with Rhys and Andy back in 2020 during the darkest times of our collective lives. We tried to make you laugh, entertain you, and create the best damn podcast we could. The boys decided to move on, and that’s fine. I carried the flame for this podcast and reached out to various bands, their PR agents, and their management. We built relationships and friendships that made this podcast possible. This venture has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my creative journey thus far. I really want to emphasize that I want to go out in style on our own terms rather than fading into obscurity. So, with great pride, respect, and some sadness, Nevermind Polly Podcast will air its last episode on 22nd September 2024.
I want to personally thank Rhys and Andy for joining me during their respective runs on the show. I want to thank all the bands for appearing on the show, all the management, all the PR folk, and, of course, all the listeners and supporters of the show. I want to thank TPD TV for their shoutout during their Download Festival video last year, which brought hundreds of new ears to the show.
What’s next for me? Well, my good friend Brandyn and I have started a longer-form podcast called Doom Riff. It’s very much in the former style of this podcast when it was myself, Rhys, and Andy. You can find us on Apple and Spotify. I also have a vlogging YouTube channel that Rebecca and I have called NevermindMatt.
I hope that this podcast has brought you some joy, introduced you to new bands, and entertained you in some way or another.
So this is it; there will be no encore.
Be kind, be good.
Matt
