HISTORY
Unification started life in the late 80's by Ras C in north west London as not just a sound system but a conscious platform for enlightenment, education, awareness and empowerment. Playing predominantly steppa's, roots and conscious dancehall the sound played across London and then travelled far along the south coast from Hastings, Eastbourne, Brighton, Lewes, Worthing to Bournemouth and b
eyond including Cornwall's famous Blue Bar on Porthtowan beach! As well as the privilege of playing at the 1997 Notting Hill carnival, having residency at Meanwhile Gardens, the site of Aswad's live and direct fame. BRIGHTON
The late 90's the sound system had a 2 years residency in Brighton's Gladstone pub, operated by selector Legsta and was used to put on nights from reggae, jungle and techno to live bands, and was also part of the RMC (Rough Man Connection) music collective, before moving along the coast again with Ras C. REVIVAL
After many years the sound has now (almost) been re-built for a third time back again in Brighton, making a banging return at 2019's Patchfest (ask the neighbours!!) and honoured to be asked to join the re-launch of local radio station Code South. RADIO SHOW
A New monthly radio show brought by a collective of DJ's and hosted by Brighton stalwart General Legsta, bringing you the latest pre-release and brand new reggae from rub-a-dub, dancehall to nu-roots and steppa's, genre defined mix-tapes and home sessions.
