This week we are happy to introduce you to the Petromyzon marinus or the SEA LAMPREY

Fun Fact: Aside from the teeth, which cover the tongue as well, the sea lamprey's internal structure is made of cartilage, not bone.

This week we have the Triatoma sanguisuga or the EASTERN KISSING BUG

Fun fact: The name kissing bug comes from the tendency to bite near its host's face, often leaving irritations.

This week we have every dog's favorite the Pulex irritans or better known as the HOUSE FLEA

Fun fact: Several common species of fleas have been documented to live over a year, should they have adequate food.

Fun fact: This sneaky catfish has spines on its gills to make removal difficult, even fatal.

Fun fact: Only male vampire moths suck blood, while females typically feed on fruit and nectar.
