Mike is an African-American recording artist, actor, and activist whose journey is as dynamic as his talents. Though currently based in Detroit, Mike’s roots and life experiences span continents, giving him a unique and rich perspective. Born in Ethiopia and raised in Virginia, Mike’s early adult years were spent in the professional sports world before he transitioned into a full-time artist in Detroit. He shares with us the importance to do our work and not compare our paths to others! Sit back, relax, and get your pens ready!

EPISODE 100! I can’t believe the Write it Down Podcast has one hundred episodes! Thank you for the support all these years!

Warren Moon was inducted in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006 (we met at the HOF enshrinement last month!),and he played 17 NFL seasons. Warren is most notable for challenging social norms by being the only African American quarterback in the league at that time. By sticking with his dream to be a qb, he changed the stigma and blazed a trail for future players. Thank you Warren for sharing your story with us 🤍

Hi, I’m Brooke!

I named my show “Write it Down” because my mentor always told me to write things down in order to remember what God has done in my life, to reflect on my past self, and to organize my thoughts. There is a play-on- words, however, because when people are watching a show or listening to a podcast, they tend to zone out and not pay attention. When I say, “Write it Down” during my show, it means “listen up” this is important. My goal is for each guest on my show to relate to the audience one point they want them to write down and remember.
