It’s officially October — which means it’s time to start planning your beach rides in Brigantine!

If you’re an experienced rider with a horse that loves the ocean breeze, this is your sign. 🌅🐎 Now’s the time to secure your permit for the upcoming riding season!

👉 Who’s ready to ride the shoreline this fall?

November 1st riding season begins

Permits are available at the Brigantine City Clerk’s Office.
Cost: $100 per two-horse trailer ($50 for veterans).
Riding season: November 1st to March 30th.
Entry point: 15th Street North, near the Bird Tower.

The roar of motorcycles, the pride of service, and the heart of giving back 🇺🇸

Meet Captain Rick Palatucci (far right), a Vietnam War Marine veteran, Harley owner, and proud member of the American Legion Riders Chapter 352 out of the Clark-Eliason American Legion Post in Somers Point. Alongside fellow Riders, Captain Rick helps raise funds for children’s hospitals, veterans’ homes, schools, scholarships, and families in need across South Jersey.

From riding in parades that bring excitement to our streets, to organizing their annual barbecue fundraiser each May, to honoring fallen veterans with last salutes, the Riders keep service and community at the forefront.

As Captain Rick reminds us: “The one thing we can’t lose sight of is the veteran, the veteran who put his life on the line.”

Let’s thank Captain Rick and the American Legion Riders for all they do to support veterans and our community.

At just 16 years old, Ashlyn has already made a name for herself in the rodeo world. What started with English riding lessons at age 7 turned into a whole new passion during the pandemic and she hasn’t slowed down since.

From Monday night game shows at Rockin’ J Ranch in Galloway to competing with her horse, Pansy, at the New Jersey High School Rodeo Association, Ashlyn’s dedication has taken her all the way to nationals in both barrel racing and pole bending. 🐎💨

She describes a good run in barrel racing as “exhilarating!” Her story is proof that hard work, courage, and community support can turn a dream into reality.

👏 Let’s cheer her on as she keeps representing Brigantine and South Jersey on the rodeo stage!
