In another quest to bridge literacy gap, Tibag High School rolls out the DepEd Project ARAL highlighting Reading in pursuant to Republic Act (RA) 12028 or An Act Establishing an Access to Resources for Alternative Learning (๐€๐‘๐€๐‹) Program led by its principal, Dr. May A. Avelino, morning of August 15, 2025, at THS covered area.

Through the help of language teachers, THS determined 517 Frustrated students and 21 non-decoders that may benefit from the newly established ARAL Program - Reading. These selected learners have scheduled tutorial sessions with 35 teacher- tutors using the TCSD Project Rescue materials.

Approximately 80 parents and guardians attended the orientation given by Dr. Ana Marie DC. Mercado, English HT-III. She discussed about the importance of inculcating the values of reading and why parents are partners in this new endeavor. In addition, the schedule of ARAL tutorials was emphasized.

The SPTA President, Jovelyn Navarro, communicated the plans laid out by the SPTA and LGU of Brgy. Tibag on the possible help they may extend such as free snacks to ARAL tutees attendees.

An open forum was conducted to give way for parentsโ€™ queries regarding the implementation, and mostly gave positive impression on this.

Project ARAL โ€“ Reading will set to begin on August 26, 2025, with the intentions of opening new chapters of hope to struggling readers and combat the alarming problems on illiteracy.

To gear up Tibag High Schoolโ€™s potential TV broadcasters, Ms. Ellana Lourdes N. Wage, a BA Communication student and a former intern of ABS CBN News, shared her expertise through a training-workshop at THS Library afternoon of August 7,2025.

Participants were engaged with activities such as scriptwriting, delivery, and basic know-hows on the technical aspect.

July 29, 2025 โ€” With their prowess in culinary, stakeholders of Tibag High School promote healthy eating habits among students and their families through a Cook Festival in support of DepEdโ€™s 51st Nutrition Month Celebration spearheaded by the THS School Head, Dr. May A. Avelino, Maโ€™am Evangeline Espiritu, and the TLE-TVL Department.

The friendly competition bears the theme โ€œ๐น๐‘œ๐‘œ๐‘‘ ๐‘Ž๐‘ก ๐‘๐‘ข๐‘ก๐‘Ÿ๐‘–๐‘ก๐‘–๐‘œ๐‘› ๐‘†๐‘’๐‘๐‘ข๐‘Ÿ๐‘–๐‘ก๐‘ฆ ๐‘š๐‘Ž๐‘”๐‘–๐‘›๐‘” ๐‘ƒ๐‘Ÿ๐‘–๐‘œ๐‘Ÿ๐‘–๐‘ก๐‘ฆ; ๐‘†๐‘Ž๐‘๐‘Ž๐‘ก ๐‘›๐‘Ž ๐‘ƒ๐‘Ž๐‘”๐‘˜๐‘Ž๐‘–๐‘› ๐พ๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ๐‘Ž๐‘๐‘Ž๐‘ก๐‘Ž๐‘› ๐‘๐‘Ž๐‘ก๐‘–๐‘›!โ€ which gathers students, parents, guardians, and faculty in a categorized Kitchen Battle per year level alongside with the photobooth with varieties of vegetables.

The jury gave their verdict considering the following criteria: packed with nutritional value, budget-friendly, cleanliness, presentation and creativity to ensure that the competition would highlight the importance of preparing balanced nutrition in building a healthier generation.

Tibag High School Special Program in Journalism (SPJ) students of Grade 9 Romulo, together with the aspiring Radio Broadcasting and TV Production Team, joined the informative seminar and field observation in partnership with Luzon Radyo Pilipino Media Group morning of July 18, 2025.

Organized under Sir Edsel Natividadโ€™s PROJECT WRITE: Writing and Reading Intensify True Education in Journalism, the event titled โ€œOn Air: Mastering the Mic through the Core Principles and Power of Radio Broadcastingโ€ equipped the student-journalists with essential broadcasting skills.

Sir Arvin J. Cabrera, the Regional Operations Head of Luzon Radyo Pilipino Media Group shared his expertise and insights on Radio Broadcasting Principles. Cabrera, known as โ€œTom Robinson,โ€ emphasized the vital role of information, entertainment, and public service.

Furthermore, Cabrera highlighted accuracy, factuality, fairness, and clarity, along with respecting the privacy of sources as key ethical considerations especially in the age of new media.

Additionally, Dr. Ana Marie Mercado, HT-III of the English Department, encouraged the student-journalists to reignite their passion for journalism. She acknowledged that the journey is not easy, but each has to seize the experience and make the most of it.

The event concluded with the closing remarks from Maโ€™am Clariza Mae Guiang, HT-III of the Filipino Department, who hoped for students' continuous support for Project WRITE activities which will foster excellent journalism in them.

To combat the concerns on malnutrition as stipulated in Deped Order 31 series 2021, Rise and Rebuild International Foundation is extending help to Tibag High School as one of its chosen recipient schools in the Division of Tarlac City.

On July 16, 2025, Dr. May Avelino, THS School Head, Maโ€™am Evangeline Espiritu TLE HT-III, together with MAPEH HT- III and Health Leader, Maโ€™am Roan Bernabe spearheaded the visitation at the RRIF Headquarters in San Manuel, Tarlac. Different THS organizations and stakeholders including the Tibag LGU and SPTA President representative Maโ€™am Jovelyn Navarro joined the activity and personally picked RRIFโ€™s locally produced vegetables that would be beneficial in sustaining the School-Based Feeding Program to fifty (50) Grade 7 recipients for the next 100 school days.

To amplify the importance of wellness and nutrition, THS organized an orientation for the SBFP recipients attended by their parents and guardians morning of July 18, 2025 at the THS covered area.

Tibag High School is incredibly thankful for the arrival of its new school service on July 2, 2025 through the initiative of its School Head, Dr. May A. Avelino.

This wonderful blessing was made possible through the school canteen savings fund and the financial assistance of the generous community of ๐บ๐‘œ๐‘‘ ๐น๐‘Ž๐‘ฃ๐‘œ๐‘Ÿ๐‘’๐‘‘ ๐ถ๐‘œ๐‘š๐‘š๐‘ข๐‘›๐‘–๐‘ก๐‘ฆ ๐ถโ„Ž๐‘ข๐‘Ÿ๐‘โ„Ž ๐‘œ๐‘“ ๐ท๐‘ข๐‘š๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ๐‘Ž๐‘–๐‘  headed by Pastor Jemuel and Pastora Lady Arlaine Felix. With their approval, its remaining balance will be paid via 9-month installment plan.

After the First Friday mass, Rev. Fr. Paolo Dela Cruz, Parish Priest of Immaculate Conception Parish- Tibag blessed the newly purchased vehicle that will help in ensuring the transportation and safety of the learners.

Surely, this blessing on wheels will have a lasting impact on the education of the THS students entrusted to the school. Hence, THS extends its heartfelt gratitude for the endless love and support of the good shepherds who willingly helped on this meaningful endeavor.
