Women, Life & Science A Podcast Designed for Women by Women We have stories to tell and knowledge to impart. We share in kindness and we share openly. We are grateful for many things.

Women, Life and Science is really just that - women, living a full life, have a professional career in science or in some form or another have been involved in the industry. We overcame challenges, uncertainties and continue to navigate the ever evolving professional and personal balance. We have little regrets but easily forgive ourselves for our missteps. Women, Life and Science is the open forum for dialogue, presentations and story-telling.

"Sometimes we need to contract to expand." Pursuing a personal mission can be deeply fulfilling, but also incredibly draining. When we're driven by purpose, it's easy to get swept up in constant doing, planning, and pushing forward, without noticing we're running on empty.

For entrepreneur, philanthropist, and advocate Jackie Ducci, this truth is part of her journey. In this episode, she shares what it means to pause, realign, and protect your energy to truly thrive. Full podcast here: https://www.buzzsprout.com/2410722/episodes/17454636

In a time and space where women were barely visible, JoAnn Hardin Morgan stood out and made history. At just 28 years old, she became the first woman ever permitted inside the launch firing room during the historic Apollo 11 moon mission. Not only that, she was the first female engineer at NASA's Kennedy Space Center. An achievement that opened doors for generations of women to follow.

Who would have thought that a high school girl who simply loved math and science would one day become a trailblazer in space exploration? Inspired by the launch of Explorer-1, the first U.S. satellite, JoAnn pursued her dream with unwavering determination. What followed was a remarkable 40-year career at NASA, marked by leadership, resilience, and innovation.

JoAnn Morgan’s story is one of passion, grit, and perseverance. Despite moments of exclusion and doubt, she forged ahead—not to prove others wrong, but to prove to herself and the world that her purpose was bigger than the barriers before her.

Let JoAnn’s journey remind us that the boundaries placed around us are not always fixed—they are often just waiting to be redefined. Like JoAnn, may we all dare to take up space, lift off with courage, and leave a legacy written not only in history books, but in the hearts of those we inspire.

Animals have an extraordinary ability to comfort, protect, and heal. For Jackie Ducci, that healing began with horses.

As a child struggling with social anxiety and feeling invisible in a world that praised extroversion, she found acceptance not in people, but in the quiet, steady presence of animals.

In this episode, our guest, Jackie Ducci, shares a deeply personal story about how her horses helped her rediscover her worth, transform her mental health, and reshape the narrative she once believed about herself.

This isn’t just about animals, it’s about connection, resilience, and the unexpected places we find our strength.

Why do certain conversations trigger you?

Often, it’s because someone has bumped into a core belief, something deeply tied to your why. We look back on our conversation with Scott Hicks as she shares how understanding your belief system helps you lead with clarity, compassion, and purpose, especially during conflict. When you lead with your why, you're not reacting, you're responding with intention.

What recent conversation triggered you, and what core belief or value did it touch?

30/06/2025

Don’t downplay yourself by listing what you haven’t done recently or what you think you're not qualified for.

Instead, talk about what you’re willing to do, what you’re capable of, and what you’re excited about!

Transitions often make us second-guess ourselves, but as we look back on our conversation with Caroline Sangal, we explore how those moments are powerful chances to grow, refocus, and define success on our terms.
