"Don't cry because it's over; smile because it happened."

A quote that often resonates in our minds; a reminder that everything will be alright. But how are we supposed to not break down and tear up if these individuals have left a profound impact in our hearts and minds that we will forever cherish and look up to?

It has truly been a roller coaster ride. Since the day we all met you, we were filled with worries and doubts. So much so that we were unsure of our choices, thinking if we made the right decision in choosing this publication. Countless hardships and challenges were given to us juniors; days and days of pressure struck upon us. There were several times that we wanted to quit and forget everything that has happened—stripping us of our hope and positivity. In spite of all of those, what did you guys do? You helped us. You encouraged us. You broke down with the us. But the most important of all, you struggled with us. You all didn't let us feel weak. You all didn't discourage us. You FOUGHT with us.

And now, as the school year comes to an end, a wonderful year comes to a close; we can all say that that has made all the difference. Up until this day, there are still no words, no languages, and no art that can express our gratitude towards you all, and that is absolutely alright because this letter will serve as the representation of our unhinged appreciation for you all.

Be it "Paalam," "Goodbye," "Sayonara," "Adios," or many more languages, no matter the language, it truly evokes a bittersweet feeling in each and every one of us.

We all wish you a meaningful journey ahead, a path filled with endless opportunities, and a road towards fulfillment.

From the bottom of our hearts— thank you, our seniors.

And lastly, to our SPA, Mr.Abel Vilog—you have continually guided us and these seniors all through out the journey. Thank you for your guidance and for reminding us that writing is one of the greatest expression of art. Thank you.

Congratulations, The Hillside Chronicle Batch 2024-2025!

Yours truly, your Juniors.

In Photos | PBHS Celebrates English Month

Themed as The Power of Reading: Leading Towards Literacy, Ponciano Bernardo High School (PBHS) celebrates this year’s English Month Wednesday, November 23.

The month-long celebration hosted several contests for each grade level, including a creative story-telling contest for grade 7, a digital comic strip contest for grade 8, an essay writing contest for grade 9, an impromptu speech competition for grade 10, and a declamation contest and reading comprehension contest for all grade levels.

Led and organized by the English Faculty and Club, the celebration started on November 4, Wednesday, the first Monday of the month, wherein the kick-off video was shown during the flag-raising ceremony—signaling the start of the month-long celebration.

That same day, the English Department held the essay writing competition for grade 9 students at their faculty after class, with the impromptu speech for grade 10 following the next day, November 5.

On November 7 & 8, the Open for All Reading Comprehension and Digital Comic Strip Competition for Grade 8 was conducted and facilitated by the English Teachers of PBHS, with several students from different grade levels participating in the said event, respectively.

The Creative Story Telling catered to grade 7 students was the last English Month activity to be held on November 12, exactly 12 days before the English Month Culminating Activity.

Alas, with enough preparation through the combined help of the English Club Officers and Members, the English Month Culmination had a successful start on November 27 with the colorful entrance of candidates for the Book Character Parade ending in an awarding ceremony for the winners of the English Month's different activities.
