Last Friday, my partner and I got to help serve lunch to students and staff for Filipino Language & Culture Week at our daughter’s school 🇵🇭🍽️ Such a heartwarming experience meeting new people and making new friends—especially for me being an introvert 😅. Grateful for moments that bring our community (and tummies) together ❤️

💔 Redundancies in Healthcare… in 2025?

Today, I received an email from a nurses' union stating that the healthcare sector has seen an unprecedented number of redundancies — more in the last 12 months than in the previous 12 years combined.

And it’s not just one type of role being affected. We’re talking about:

Clinical positions — nurses, allied health, and frontline care staff.

Management roles — leaders who’ve been guiding teams for years.

Support positions — admin and coordinators who keep everything running.

The main reasons?
📉 Funding cuts
📉 Financial pressures
📉 Hiring freezes — even for new graduates

It’s disheartening. Many of us entered healthcare believing it was one of the most secure careers. People will always need care, right? Yet here we are — colleagues losing their jobs, not because of poor performance, but because of budgets and politics.

Reality check: No industry is immune anymore. Even those we thought would stand strong forever can change overnight. That’s why having a backup plan is no longer optional — it’s essential.

To my fellow healthcare workers: I see you. I feel your frustration. And I hope you remember — your worth is so much more than your job title. 💙

I’ve been there — pushing hard, hoping one day it would finally work, but secretly doubting it ever would.

Fear will keep you moving… but belief will set you free. 🚀

So here’s the real question to ask yourself today:
Do I believe… or am I just not quitting?
