Day 9: Rainy Days ☔💙

Today, my heart is soaked with gratitude as I celebrate the magic that falls from the sky—rain. Living in sunny Southern California, each rainy day feels like a precious gift, a respite from the sun.

🌧️ The soft pitter-patter of raindrops is my personal symphony, a soothing melody that paints tranquility across the landscape. The cloudy overcast skies wrap around me like a cool, comforting blanket, creating a cozy haven for introspection and peace.

There's something enchanting about the rhythmic dance of rain on rooftops and the fresh scent that fills the air. Rainy days bring a unique kind of serenity, a gentle reminder of the beauty found in nature's ever-changing embrace.

And of course, can’t forget splashing in puddles! 💦 ☔️ 💧

So here's to the rainy days that bring a calm to my soul, a touch of poetry to the ordinary, and the joy found in the simple magic of water falling from the heavens.

Who is one person you are grateful for?

I’m going to have to say my mother. She saw me for who I was, and fed my interests and abilities, and even without any formal training in education (at the time) she sought out opportunities for me to learn, explore, and grow. She nurtured my creativity and allowed me space to use it, despite the mess it brought with it. She made every effort to make sure I had a constant access to books, even within our limited budget and schedule. Used books, library, Christmas gifts— books were always available to me. And she modeled emotional regulation and maturity in a way I now see as an adult is NOT common.

I wouldn’t be the person I am today without her subtle guidance.
