This weekend my husband and I hosted a beautiful marriage event for Never Just Married couples!

We had such an amazing time together in the Lord....

Our theme was t-WIN with your spouse & I wrote it that way to see if they got a hint that there was a prize involved for best couple who twinned the best... I threw many clues out... and everything planned was INTENTIONAL!

Matt Cooley & Faustina Emma Cooley won the prize for best twinned couple!!!! She even braided her hair to match his dreads!!!! Lol!

Everyone did such a great job, we had a blast! ♥️

Most importantly God was honored & people who didn't know the Lord before this event are hungry, thirsty & searching...they wanna know know who is this God that we speak of! Ultimately THAT'S the goal! Strengthening marriages, families, & leaving people thirsty for Christ & ALL FOR HIS GLORY & HONOR!!!!!

Such great feedback since Saturday & I pray the Lord was pleased! What people don't see is the BTS ...trust & believe the atmosphere was set before any feet stepped foot in our yard! 🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶

A man in love is in constant pursuit. His every action is directed toward what - or whom - he loves most.

Watch a man's pursuit, see what he really loves.

As a husband, I have vowed to pursue my bride above all else (besides Jesus). How can I possibly do that? I'm far from perfect, but here are a few ways I'm learning to love Selena well.

1) Give her my time.
For Selena, quality time is her top love language, so I must become fluent in speaking it. Whenever possible, I try to carve out extra time for us to be together. This means some other things I want to do get axed, but the reward is well worth it.

2) Give her my attention
It's one thing to be in the same room, it's another to be present together. I'm learning to engage with her and our little girls emotionally...mentally. There's no substitute for the focused attention a husband/father can give is family, and only I can give it to them.

3) Give her my affection.
Too much time passes between hugs and "I love yous" if I don't make a conscious effort. I'm learning to tell her I love her as much as I think it, and I'm learning to give her physical affection that she enjoys (not just the kind that leads to s*x): tender touches, thoughtfully grabbing her hand when in public, and hugging casually without pretense or expectation.

Notice how every one of these ways starts with the word "give". That's love. Love is generously giving of yourself to another without demanding anything in return. Do I receive love back from Selena? Of course! But love doesn't demand it.

That's exactly the love Christ gives us: free of strings, beyond measure. Oh that I may understand more deeply the love of Christ on the cross so that I can love and pursue my wife as well as I am called (Eph 5). Stay fierce, men. -Ryan

This post is so real and so raw! I love it because we all have our different love stories!

This one is a true depiction of how GOD CAN if you INVOLVE God!

Keep God first, press through the pain, press through the I don't wanna (but I already committed), fight on your knees even if it's alone, pray for your spouse, speak to godly counsel, show one another the God in YOU!

Feelings are fickle- Marriage works when you work it!

I'm so proud of this couple!

God gets ALL the glory!

Lord knows we do not have a romantic story of how we met and how things were oh so perfect and how we've waited all our life for each other. Nope, in fact what you are looking at are to very imperfect people who didn't have it all together at all. We were both very much broken. We received christ together, got baptized together, experienced God's unconditional love, forgiveness, undeserved grace and favor. We pressed through so many battles and struggles. And we made it to another level and I could have never imagined after experiencing such brokenness, anger, bitterness and resentment! BUT GOD! We have not arrived to a place of comfort nor will we ever because our strength comes from the Lord. He has been our sustainer, strength, rock, firm foundation, clarifier, counselor, teacher, and sooooo much more. Truly all glory and honor goes to the Lord almighty cause we were a mess and God has been having His way in us as we try our hardest to give Him our yes. Prayers over our union are appreciated. Because we did not just arrive here we fought to get here. Some of us had to overcome generational cycles of disfunction. Here's to generational blessings! Let's keep fighting and pressing babe! God is faithful.
