The United Kingdom's Department for Work and Pensions - DWP has published some more high level detailed data for its Pathways to Work consultation. Autistic people who claim PIP should be fine, the biggest takeaway is the rise in the 16-19 age band which has skyrocketed since 2020 in claiming PIP which is why the government wants to ban under 22-year-olds from claiming. 'Anxiety and depression' is also a significant outlier condition since 2020. Autism has risen too but it appears manageable. Autistic claimants are more likely to score at least four points on a daily living activity and learning disabled claimants score even higher. Claimants with just 'Anxiety and depression' tend to score a maximum of two points. It's clear the UK government is going after people who don't have an official diagnosis to protect the welfare system for the disabled people who do need it.
