I still remember like it was yesterday, my friend approached me with a surprising request- he wanted my help with his social media account. The thing is, I wasn't exactly qualified, let alone an expert. I remember being taken aback and asking, 'Why me?' I even wondered if he was joking! Guess what! He was dead serious.
You see, I had always enjoyed assisting people with various creative tasks, whether it was designing posts, crafting captivating captions, writing blogs/articles, or even composing emails. But it had never occurred to me to turn this passion into a profession. I thought to myself: "If he's putting so much trust in me, it's defo worth a shot!" That one thought was about to change the direction of my career.
The excitement that bubbled within me was palpable. After all, I had a longstanding love for both writing and design. Oh, and did I mention that I had dabbled in Fashion Design before venturing into teaching? Yes, that's right! I even taught English to students from diverse corners of the globe.
As I delved deeper into the realms of social media and writing, I couldn't help but experiment with different styles of design and prose. I often found myself gazing in awe at the work of social media gurus, pondering about the wellspring of their constant inspiration.
It's been seven years since that first post, and although a lot has changed, one thing will never change- my love for creating beauty and impact through words.
It's an empowering feeling to realize that I serve as a bridge between businesses and their audience. I've discovered that I have a voice, and it's a voice that truly matters.
