A journal entry a week before The Real MVP shoot:

“You’re a project away from a new beginning! I think at William Sonoma shoot I learned that it’s not hard to be with the big dawgs. It just takes time & the right opportunity to be with these folks. My time will come for when I will be there. What they say or do is not any different than what I’m doing right now. Use what I have to become better - opportunities are scarce so taking advantage of ALL.”

The Real MVP was a memorable project to direct because of all the brilliant minds that made this :60 story possible. We started with 4 people during the conception & ended with 17 people. This project showed me the ability to do a whole lot with very little from art direction, camera & more.

Behind The Scenes - Boy’s Bedroom - Director’s Vision

“When I see this home, it’s almost dreamlike filled with a mother’s warmth, thoughtfulness, and support. There are no moments where it feels dark or moody eliciting any sort of negative feeling. A house that feels nostalgic & a memory from the past.

Lighting our two rooms should look soft/balanced with dimly lit areas & a controlled highlight in our windows (if any).”

I used to be extremely insecure because I have never been on a big set. Dana dolly? Never used. Directors monitor? Never held one. A crew bigger than 4? Never been on one. So to direct a spec commercial of this magnitude brought a lot of insecurities.

My thoughts have changed because your value is not determined whether you shoot on an fx6 or sonya6400! Heck, if you’ve never been on set with more than one other person does not mean you’re a bad filmmaker. Just because you don’t use or do something a certain way should not diminish your worth. It just means you haven’t had the opportunity to use those things yet. :)

Our approach to this project began with a single question: how can we capture the feeling of wearing something that brings you closer to the person you love most? There’s a magic in selecting clothes with the perfect fabric, style, and look for those special—or even everyday—moments. It’s an intimate choice, guided by the emotions that surface when you’re in the presence of someone who means the world to you. We hoped to capture all that within this :30 second spot.

Hello everyone! It's wild to think that a lot can change within 3 short years. I remember publishing my portfolio, and it was a stretch to say the least on what to include. I mean... I made dumplings to begin! Old me would have quit after experiencing any ounce of struggles, but this video thing has been the longest I've stuck to something.

Something that I'm hoping for in 2025:
1. Do 5 weddings with 5 couples who want their story to be told boldly & with intentionality. (starting cost $4,000 in Oregon/Socal)
2. Do more sports projects (one is currently in pre-production)
3. Executive produce a project & hire a commercial director

These 3 things all have their own stories, but that's for another time!

I'm a firm believe on asking for help... so if you know of any one like creative directors, marketing directors, executive directors for organizations, engaged couples...??? I'd love a new connection! Thank you!

Filmmaking is a lonely journey, but the biggest joys I’ve experienced are the people i meet along the way. I remember when I was on a flight home after a wedding job in Minnesota and I dreamed big! It was on that plane where I wanted to lead others on a project.

Moving to Portland has been challenging more than “fun”. I have thought more about quitting & moving than any other thing. However, there has been some amazing friendships that have came about this big move. I have learned quite a bit & have seen that I am capable of more than I know. So I guess this move was worth it????

Anywho! Here are 20 photos that represent 10 things that I am thankful for:

Hello!! It me! I’m writing this because I’ve been feeling it in my bones this past month ✨I want to work with a couple that is excited to host a big tiny wedding for their close family & friends. Somewhere in the low 50s?!?

The couple values
- their faith
- parents
- family - one big family reunion

We might be the right fit if this sounds like your wedding:
- Intimate weddings & a secluded ceremony is something special to you.
- Honoring your parents in a private outing that’s separate from your wedding.
- You have crazy-cool siblings & you are the cool uncle/aunty of the family.
- This is one big long table backyard type of shindig of a reception!
- It’s a 3 day wedding with plenty of meaningful moments & activities.

The reason I write this is because my family is scattered throughout the world & we see each other once every 2-3 years. This type of wedding is something I would love to throw in the future. Having the closest people to have a 3 day party would be quite special.
