👋In an effort to provide a way for those that don’t want a public podcast, but still have a story to tell friends and family, I’ve created:

In Retrospect
A HyperLocal(s) Project
Here’s how it works.

🎙️A 20-minute pre-interview where the client provides back story, basic details and any prompts that they want asked, meaning what do they want shared in the interview? What do they deem important? This can be a friend, family member or business partner of the guest I'll be interviewing. This pre-interview will give the framework for me, the interviewer, to ask pertinent questions of the guest.

🎙️Sample prompts and questions to help both the client and interviewed understand the direction of the conversation.

🎙️An hour-long audio interview either with the client or with a client’s friend or family member. To ensure the best sound quality, reduce technical difficulties and create a real connection with the guest, I will only be doing face-to-face interviews in Champaign-Urbana and surrounding areas.

🎙️ The interview will be edited and packaged on a flash drive for the client to keep forever and share as they wish.

John Staab. Winning at Practice and Winning 500 Games. HyperLocals C-U Podcast Episode 170.

Coming in fresh from a day of summer school, this fixture at Central High School takes me through the trajectory of his teaching and coaching career.

Listen as this small town Iowa farm kid talks farming, "kids these days," technology, the longevity of his career at our local high school, the approach of empty nesting, travel baseball, emotional coaching vs. skills coaching, bringing a team together, a frustrating end to the season, your own kid letting go of the sport you love, 500 wins and shedding tears vs. anger. I feel so grateful to catch Mr. Staab after such an epic season. You're leaving a legacy.
