This week my family and I celebrated my birthday at West Side Ramen. The food was fantastic as always.

The restaurant has been one of our go-tos for celebrations dating back to their time as Chrissoulas.

We are trying to fit in another visit before the location closes at the end of the month.

Don’t sleep on the great places to eat in Southern Lake County. Original Bagel & Bialy is a gem. I ordered a corned beef, pastrami, and chopped liver on an egg bagel. It made my day. I enjoyed the potato salad and matzah ball soup. We brought home a brownie and a Black & White cookie too.

George's Gyros closes tomorrow 😢. They’re my favorite gyro in Lake County. Had to have another before they close. The BFG is big enough to feed me and the wife. 🥙

Breakfast with the wife at our favorite morning meal spot. Breakfast truly is the most important meal of the day and they do an excellent job.

Jeff- Weeknights on 1023XLC

I grew up with a radio always within an earshot. As a kid I spent countless hours with a tape recorder trying to imitate all of the jocks that I heard on-air.

I attended Columbia College Chicago and earned a bachelor’s degree in sound engineering. Upon graduating from Columbia, my first job was as a freelance engineer with NPR. I worked in radio briefly before pursuing other work and starting a family.

My passion for radio brought me back to broadcasting and I’ve been at part of 1023XLC since August 2015.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Hillary and our four children. I love all types of music, documentaries, professional wrestling, trying new cuisine and visiting farmers markets. I’m a huge fan of the University of Michigan football program.
