A large portion of this conversation talks about the importance of challenging the centering of whiteness and the default being white. We know that this can be an uncomfortable conversation, but we believe that it is critical in our own growth.
It’s so fascinating to see Nassun experience this place that was so different from anything she’s ever known—and strikingly similar to our world in some ways. (Cable management, anyone?)
Much has happened in Lord of the Rings news since we last talked about all things Middle Earth! Josef leads us through a list of the things to look forward to.
We’re digging these explorations into Hoa’s past—even if we are super confused by most of it. (We trust Jemisin to lead us through this story, and we know it will all make sense eventually.)
We’re diving right back in and starting with a Hoa Prologue. It’s not a long prologue, but we talk about it for quite a while because there are so many truths that N.K. Jemisin is revealing. We got goosebumps!
