Still taking it all in… I’m an AWARD WINNER! 💫
Last Saturday , I attended the Network Ireland Dublin awards as a finalist in the STEM Professional category — and left with the One to Watch Award.
It was completely unexpected. Carol O’Kelly began reading something from LinkedIn and halfway through, I turned to my husband and whispered, “I wrote that.” My heart was racing. My body was shaking. I still can’t believe it.
This award means a lot. It’s given to someone whose potential and passion are hard to ignore — and I’m still wrapping my head around that being me.
Sometimes I look around and think, how did I end up here?
I’m still just a girl with a dream, heart on her sleeve, passion in her eyes — figuring it out as she goes.
Being a business owner wasn’t the plan. It came from burnout, a toxic job, and deep grief after losing my dad at 59. That kind of pain shifts everything. It made me realise life is too short to live by someone else’s rules.
So I made space for myself.
When no one invited me on their podcast, I started my own.
When I was shouted at in work, I walked away and built something new.
When grief knocked me down, I used it to move forward.
The awards night was stunning. From the Lucan Spa Hotel to the energy in the room — the committee truly spoiled us. Thank you for making me feel seen and supported.

Great brands don’t just reflect who your customer is. They offer a bridge to who they’re becoming. We don’t design brands to flatter — we design them to *guide*.
đź’¬ Reflect: Who is your brand helping your audience become?
A logo is just the introduction. The real brand is what stays with you after the first impression. It’s how it made them *feel*. It’s the energy it carried. Branding isn’t just how you look — it’s how you’re *held*.
I finally met my client Niamh Moynihan in person on Monday. We have been working together online since 2022, so the first real‑life hug felt long overdue.
Niamh pulled me on stage to demonstrate her productivity exercises and her energy filled the room. My notebook came away with five reminders I want to keep close and also share with you:
• Could → Should → Must: run every idea through this funnel and act on the musts.
• I am enough: a simple line that keeps the to‑do list in perspective.
• Build your MVP: start with a minimum viable set of priorities and refine later.
• Three high‑impact tasks: pick them in the morning and let the rest wait.
• If I do nothing else today, I will …: finish that sentence and honour it. Life changing - believe me!!

It’s like your website’s profile pic. A quick hello. A nudge that says, “Yep, you’re in the right place.”
You’ll spot it in tabs, bookmarks, even when someone saves your site to their phone screen. Basically, it helps people find their way back to you...without having to squint through 27 open tabs.
So if your designer is creating you one, they’re not being extra. They just care. It’s all part of showing up properly.

Hey there!
Welcome to my page! I bet that if you are here you want to know a little bit more about me and my work so here it goes:
I’m a Portuguese freelance living in Ireland since 2013. Since a very young age, I’ve always loved art, creating and getting my hands dirty with paint.I’ve started studying Arts while still in high school followed by a 5-year College Degree in Graphic Design. I’ve worked in agencies for a few years but life has funny ways to derail you from your dreams so I ended up working in Business Operations and Analytics roles for the past years. I loved what I was doing but not as much as I love to be a designer and to create.
Last year it was clear to me that I needed to shake things a little bit, so I’ve enrolled in a Digital Marketing Diploma with the plan of combining both Marketing and Design skills to build a future career change. And that’s how I made the jump into the freelance world.
Life is too precious, each day of your life should be spent doing what gives us joy and we should always be allowed to dream, no matter how high. And with that, here I am now, this is only the beginning but I hope you will be around to see By Roberta grow as a reference brand in the market and we can perhaps collaborate.
