GLOBAL NONVIOLENT FILM FESTIVAL 2025 POSTER UNVEILED
The 14th annual edition of the Global Nonviolent Film Festival will run from September 25 to October 12 on GlobalCinema.online.
Hollywood, California (April 9, 2025)— The poster, created by Daria Trifu, pays tribute to the legendary Charlie Chaplin with an image from his immensely successful 1921 feature film, The Kid. This film marked Chaplin’s first feature and his directorial debut; he also wrote, produced, and starred in the picture.
The Global Nonviolent Film Festival has showcased and awarded films that do not contain gratuitous violence since 2012. With over a decade of impact, the event is considered the most important and renowned nonviolent film festival in the world, and it has become a cornerstone in its niche, celebrating artistry that fosters peace and understanding.
The festival is broadcast on the streaming channel GlobalCinema.online, and it provides a unique platform for international filmmakers and multinational audiences to engage with meaningful, nonviolent narratives.
The program of the festival is divided into two parts: the live period and the additional screening period. During the live period—which starts on September 25 and ends on October 6 with an hour-long awards show—the participating films are screened while they compete for awards given by the jury. During this time, from the comfort of their homes and for free, viewers can watch the films along with daily video presentations provided by the festival’s organizers. With the awards announced on October 6 and the competition ending, the second period of the festival begins and continues until October 12. During this supplementary time, there are no new daily presentations, but the audience can still watch the films that have participated, the previously broadcast daily presentations, and the awards show free of charge.
“Over the years, the public has shown an added interest in watching or re-watching the movies after the awards are in. This is why we have decided to add an extra week and prolong the screening period,” says Daria Trifu, the festival’s director.
A panel of five international jury members elects the winners in each category for the following merits: best film, director, cinematographer, actor (male and female), art designer, screenplay writer, editor, and music composer.
Once the festival ends, the films that have competed receive a distribution contract proposal from Global Cinema Online, the distribution division of Global Film Studio. The contract gives the producers the opportunity to have their work become a part of GlobalCinema.online's curated catalog of films that are available in streaming on a VOD basis. According to the terms of the licensing agreement, the producers retain a 60% share of their films’ revenue.
Films can be submitted to the festival until August 31:

The festival accepts submissions in six categories, which are feature and short narrative movies, documentaries, docudramas, animation, and experimental films, as well as music videos. As long as they do not contain gratuitous violence, films that depict current or historical events of a violent nature, such as wars, as well as films that portray traumatic events, are accepted.
