Phakisa Holdings is currently looking for a Chemical Operator in Apex -Benoni area.
Job Overview
The Chemical Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring equipment used in the chemical processing of materials. This role ensures safe and efficient operation of chemical production processes, following prescribed procedures and regulations. The operator will be expected to maintain the flow of production, troubleshoot issues, and ensure that all processes comply with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Operation of Equipment: Operate and control equipment such as reactors, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and distillation columns involved in chemical production processes.
Monitoring and Control: Monitor temperature, pressure, flow rates, and other operational variables to ensure processes run smoothly. Adjust controls as necessary to maintain the desired product specifications.
Process Adjustments: Make adjustments to chemical processes to ensure consistent product quality and efficiency. Troubleshoot issues and resolve problems as they arise.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety procedures and company policies, ensuring the safe handling of hazardous materials. Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations.
Quality Assurance: Inspect and ensure the quality of the products at various stages of production, conducting tests and sampling when necessary. Document test results and maintain production logs.
Maintenance: Assist with routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment to ensure operational readiness. Report any equipment malfunctions or needed repairs to the supervisor.
Documentation and Reporting: Complete accurate production records, including batch sheets, logs, and maintenance records. Submit daily shift reports as required.
