Knitting my first lace garment project. Love Letter Top by I’m loving the challenge this has been. Learning how to read knitting charts, following along with each detail and spending focused time growing my brain and my focus.

Have you worked on anything lately that made you feel empowered or smarter afterward?

This is one of the many reasons I love slow craft and fiber arts specifically. It often can be calming and relaxing, but it can also challenge, stretch and grow our abilities. Such a wonderful diversity that goes into making the things we use.

I’m so looking forward to wearing this top. But I foresee being just a teeny bit sad when it’s done. I’ll never get to knit another “first lace knit garment” again. I think the payoff of the skill and the power of the knowledge will be prize enough to overcome too much of a slump however😁

Hey friends! Need a fun fall weaving project? I made a corn cob weaving tutorial on my Youtube Channel. Go check it out if you want to learn how to weave your own!

These can be made in whatever colors you can think up (and dye). I made these with some naturally dyed rattan reed using walnut hulls from my neighborhood.

Pressing cosmos flowers for future bundle dyeing projects. The cosmos I planted earlier in the season is still going strong. I'm expecting them to wilt in a freeze every morning, and every morning so far I've woken up to their cheery bright faces smiling in the garden. Definitely a fun extended Summer benefit.

I'm hoping to get a second batch of these pressed before it freezes. I just wanted to leave them in the garden as long as possible. They're so pretty!

Autumn leaf crafts are great fun! I saw this idea by a blogger and wanted to give it a try. Creating a leaf bowl using Modge Podge and fresh Autumn leaves. I found some amazingly colorful leaves that fell from our ornamental maple trees. The result was a bit softer than I was hoping for, if I did this again I would use Elmer's glue to add stiffness.
