Living Faith Out Loud: Jessica’s Story
In her own words …
I still remember the day, in 2018, that I opened the book of Job and saw it was actually God who offered Job to Satan to test and try. THIS BLEW MY MIND! I had always heard it taught like Satan was just picking on Job and chose him to prove a point. But rather, when you read the scripture, you see that God not only offered Job up, but also gave the allowance for Satan to move. This sparked such an interest in me to read and study the Word for myself. I had no idea where to begin and was too embarrassed to ask for help. I felt as if I was supposed to just know how and some how that got left out with my salvation package. This, of course, was a lie from the enemy, however, I had to solely rely on Holy Spirit to give me understanding.
In 2019. I received a prophetic word that God was calling me an alterer. Someone that he would partner with in the Earth to impact and implement change in some way. But How? When? With who? In What ways?
In 2020 I was led to create a Bible study Journal. This journal, unlike any I had seen before, gave an outline for studying the Word of God. It coupled studying with journaling for beginners, like myself. But after I created it, I did nothing with it. It just sat in my canva files collecting cyber dust. When will this be used? Will it be used? Was this just an obedience move?
In 2023, I gathered a few women in my home who I knew wanted to study the word of God. They had asked me individually to show them how to study or share what I knew. So we gathered on Monday evenings for several weeks. Dividing the Word, reading scripture, sharing insight…it was beautiful! We ended the 6 weeks by having a meeting in the park where they brought a sister in Christ and taught them how to do what we spent weeks on! It was an act of discipleship that truly was amazing. But what now? Is it just done? Do I search for more ladies? Is this what ALTRD could be?
Later that same year God said it’s time to release the Bible Study Journal! So finally, after 3 years, God called it forth. I released the journal and people enjoyed it but I still felt a bit incomplete. What about the ones who still don’t really know how to study? The journal gives some instruction but don’t they need more? Is this too part of ALTRD?
Entering 2024, I felt that God had answered part of my prayer! I knew ALTRD would be a group to help spark a fire for the Word of God! I knew it would be men and women who had a hunger for a deeper understanding of the things of God! I knew it would be a community! But now the only question was WHEN!?
And now, in 2025, God has said that it’s time to go forward! ALTRD has been birthed. It is a community for believers who want to get into the Word but maybe just don’t know how. It’s a community for believers who have a hunger to go deeper in the word through study! It’s a community for believers to discuss study styles, study tools, and tips to becoming better in understanding and applying the Word of God! ALTRD is a community where we are being Altered on the Altar of God, through the Word of God! I am overjoyed and humbled to partner with God on ALTRD! I am no theologian, nor I have not been to seminary or Bible college. I am just a woman, hungry for the things of God , eager to share what I’ve been given, and excited about how God is going to Alter us All!
