“My prayer is not for the world, but for those you have given me, because they belong to you. All who are mine belong to you, and you have given them to me, so they bring me glory.”

Did you know that Jesus constantly prays for you in all areas of your life, including fatherhood? The Bible repeatedly says that Jesus is praying for you.
In fact, he is talking to his Father about you all the time. You are precious to him. You are the object of his affection. Of course he thinks about and talks about you!
Even before Jesus died on the cross, he was praying for you. John 17:9-10 says, "My prayer is not for the world, but for those you have given me, because they belong to you. All who are mine belong to you, and you have given them to me, so they bring me glory" (NLT).
God the Father is constantly hearing Jesus say things like, "Help him, Lord. Show him how to lead his kids. Help him to love them better. Help their family. Help those relationships, Lord." This is called interceding, and it means to advocate on behalf of someone.
Jesus has been interceding for you every moment of your life. He can do that because he's God. He doesn't get confused or overwhelmed. Your circumstances aren't too much for him. He is your Advocate who sits at the right hand of the Father in heaven "and is also interceding for us" (Romans 8:34 NIV). Even when you sin, Jesus leans over and reminds the Father that he already paid for that one; it's covered.
Because Jesus is interceding for you, you can pray a simple prayer anytime no matter what you're facing as a father, even if you don't know what else to pray. Just say, "Jesus, thank you for praying for me right now-because I'm really struggling."
You can find comfort knowing that Jesus is always thinking of you and praying for you-he's got your back as you navigate being a dad.
