We are happy to be back on the road, just maybe not this road!

The 15 freeway has been stop/go (mostly stop) traffic for almost two hours. Urgh.

We are FINALLY leaving California! Long update…

We love our home state but this is NOT what we signed up for when we moved into our rig full-time three years ago. We had no idea that just 18 months into our RV Life I (Cat) would be diagnosed with severe arthritis and need both my hips replacing.

Suffice to say the last 18 months have been tough; not just physically but mentally. We still managed to travel for a while before my first surgery, however, hiking (our favorite activity) was out of the question. Once the first surgery was done and the brutal recovery was over, we were once again able to travel, but short trips only in order to constantly return for Doctor/hospital visits. Due to a mix up with my surgeon my second surgery took far longer to happen and I ended up wheelchair bound for any excursions toward the end of the wait . This was not what we wanted from our life.

Now, finally, we’re back to living life and we’re ecstatic.

Talk about bump in the road!! This serves to remind us that even when we live a life full of adventure, it can change in a moment.

Happiness is realizing that you can leave for your next adventure two days earlier than expected.

For anyone who doesn’t know, we’ve been practically stationary for months while I (Cat) had my second hip replacement surgery, and we are now rearing to go.

Our first ‘big dot’ is to visit our amazing friends at the Yankee Fork Gold Dredge for a week before heading to Montana. Excited to leave this 100/37° weather.
