I know it’s been a while since you’ve heard from us. But a lot has happened and changed since the last time you did. Some of us had more babies, one of us went back to school, and one of us came out as gay. We may one day return to the podcast world. But, until then, if you miss hearing Buddy’s voice, he’s now using it for a new podcast all about LGBTQ+ stories in Appalachia.

This month means a lot to me. Two years ago, during the month of June, I decided I wanted to live. I sat on a cliff for hours, writing and praying, unsure if that would be the outcome. Two years later, I am not only living, I am living out loud.

You can hear more about that- including the words I wrote when I was at my darkest- in the first episode of the podcast, which is now live.

It may take a while to show up on your platforms, and more ways to listen will be added as we go. But I wanted to kick off Pride with the power of stories. And I am excited to share more with you each week.

Subscribe, share, and help me stitch together more stories that need to be told. . . .

DO YOU KNOW ME?

I am a young girl, whose remains were found on July 4th, 1984. Instead of celebrating the holiday with my family and fireworks, I was left nameless in Warren County, .

My bones were found along the northbound lanes of Interstate 65, about 2.5 miles south of Bowling Green. The detectives and scientists think I have been dead for several months to a few years. I was only about 12-16 years old.

A few things I want you to know about me-
I have brown hair, and was between 4'9 and 5'0 tall. I was wearing a multicolor long sleeved pullover and red corduroy pants. I may have been right handed. I also may have had an injury to the back of my head- my skull showed signs that something healed. Lastly, I had some problems with my teeth. I had been to the dentist before and have multiple fillings in my teeth. I also may have been diagnosed with a condition called displayed hypoplasia on my bottom two middle teeth- this is a defect where my enamel on my teeth is absent or very thin and it leaves pits or grooves in my teeth and cause them to be yellow or brown in color.

If you know me, or think you may have information that can help me get my name back, please contact the center for missing and exploited children at 1-800-THE-LOST with any information.

(Final photos are proof that we were finally able to convince Christa to visit the cemetery.)
