𝘽𝙉𝙃𝙎 𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙤𝙧𝙨 𝙂𝙎𝙋 𝙁𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙀𝙨𝙘𝙤𝙙𝙖 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙪 𝙎𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙨 𝙒𝙚𝙚𝙠 𝘾𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣

Burgos National High School celebrated Josefa Llanes Escoda Day on the 20th day of September as part of its Scouts Week Celebration, bringing together troop leaders and Girl Scouts in an activity that highlighted the values of leadership, citizenship, service, discipline, and character development.

The celebration was organized by GSP Coordinator , Head Teacher Milanita F. Perez, with the participation of the school’s troop leaders and GSP learners.

The activity formed part of the school’s annual Scouts Week observance, which aims to promote leadership, citizenship, service, and character development among learners. It also provided an opportunity for the scouts to recognize the significant role of scouting in developing responsible, disciplined, and community-oriented young individuals.

The celebration honored the legacy of Josefa Llanes Escoda, whose dedication to service and leadership continues to inspire generations of Girl Scouts. The observance encouraged the learners to appreciate the ideals and principles of the scouting movement and to carry these values into their daily lives.

Troop leaders and GSP learners participated in the celebration, strengthening their camaraderie and commitment to service. Wearing their complete Scout uniforms and observing proper decorum, the participants demonstrated their enthusiasm and dedication to the scouting movement.

The activity also served as an opportunity for the learners to develop a stronger sense of responsibility toward their school and community. Through scouting, they are encouraged to become disciplined, compassionate, and service-oriented individuals.

The celebration of Escoda Day became a meaningful highlight of Burgos National High School’s Scouts Week, reminding the young scouts that the spirit of scouting is reflected not only in the uniform they wear but also in their commitment to leadership, service, citizenship, discipline, and helping others.

𝙈𝙖𝙮𝙤𝙧 𝙐𝙮 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙨 𝙤𝙖𝙩𝙝-𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙛 𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝘽𝙉𝙃𝙎 𝙊𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 2026-2027

Mayor Francis Kervin G. Uy of Burgos, Isabela served as the Inducting Officer during the 2026 Oath-Taking Ceremony of the newly elected and appointed officers of Burgos National High School yesterday, bringing together school leaders, teachers, learners, and organization representatives in a ceremony centered on commitment and service.

The ceremony formally inducted the new sets of officers of the School Governing Council (SGC), School Parent-Teacher Association (SPTA), Faculty Association, Student Body Organizations, clubs and organizations, and classroom officers.

During the ceremony, Mayor Uy administered the oath of office to the officers, who pledged to fulfill their respective responsibilities, uphold the values of leadership and accountability, and contribute to the programs and activities of the school.

The oath-taking served as a formal transition of leadership among the various groups in BNHS, emphasizing the shared responsibility of school stakeholders in supporting learner development and strengthening school-community partnership.

The newly inducted officers are expected to work with the school administration, teachers, parents, and learners in carrying out their respective roles and supporting initiatives that promote a positive and participatory school environment.

Burgos National High School campus journalist Marlaine Bernice Villanueva placed second in Copy Editing and Headline Writing (English) during the Division School Press Conference 2026 held on September 2–4 in Roxas, Isabela.

Villanueva, Editor-in-Chief of The Burgos Prowess, competed under the coaching of Mrs. Marielle Cadelinia, competed against campus journalists from different schools in the division of Isabela in the journalism event.

Cadelinia said the result reflected Villanueva’s preparation and performance throughout the competition.

“Her achievement shows the value of preparation and determination in the competition,” Cadelinia said.

The result highlighted Burgos NHS’s continuing participation in division-level campus journalism competitions, according to Journalism Coordinator Mrs. Aisa Castro.

Meanwhile, School Head Dr. Niño Guillermo recognized the achievement and the role of campus journalism in developing students’ writing and editing skills.

Villanueva’s second-place finish added another recognition to Burgos NHS’s record in campus journalism competitions, strengthening the school’s standing in the division.

To empower young people to use graffiti and visual art as meaningful forms of self-expression and advocacy, the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of Burgos, Isabela conducted the “Graffiti for Advocacy: Colors of Change” on September 8, 2026, at Burgos Municipal Gymnasium, Burgos, Isabela, where Burgos National High School (BNHS) emerged as 3rd Place winner.

The activity aimed to promote creativity, youth participation, social awareness, and positive community engagement while encouraging young people to become advocates for meaningful change through art.

Burgos National High School was represented by selected Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) officers and student participants, accompanied by SSG Adviser Twinky Barrozo. The students collaborated in creating an advocacy-themed graffiti artwork that reflected their ideas, messages, and vision for a better community.

Through their creativity, teamwork, and effective presentation of their advocacy, the BNHS participants earned 3rd Place, bringing pride and recognition to the school.
The activity also encouraged the youth to Speak Out, Respect, Empower, Inspire, and Transform through the power of art. It served as an avenue for students to showcase their artistic talents while communicating messages that promote awareness and positive change in the community.

The achievement highlighted the active participation of BNHS learners in youth-centered advocacy programs and demonstrated how art can be used as a powerful tool for expression and social involvement.

BURGOS, ISABELA — Leadership, discipline, and service took center stage as young Scouts were recognized during the closing and awarding ceremony of the Council-Wide Scouts Leadership Training Courses on September 8, 2026, at Burgos National High School, Burgos, Isabela.

Organized by the Boy Scouts of the Philippines–Isabela Council, the two-day training held from September 7 to 8 featured the Patrol Leaders Training Course (PLTC) for the Boy Scout Section and the Crew Leaders Training Course (CLTC) for the Senior Scout Section.

The closing ceremony highlighted the achievements of the participating Scouts after completing a series of leadership, character-building, teamwork, and self-reliance activities. Joining the closing and awarding rites were the lead organizers of the training together with Dr. Nino C. Guillermo, School Principal of Burgos National High School, the host school, whose presence underscored the school’s support for the Scouting program and the development of young leaders.

The awarding rites served as one of the highlights of the activity, recognizing the Scouts for their participation, dedication, discipline, and commitment throughout the training. The ceremony celebrated their efforts in completing the course while encouraging them to carry the values and lessons they learned into their respective Scout units, schools, and communities.

Throughout the two-day activity, the Scouts were given opportunities to strengthen their leadership potential and develop qualities essential to becoming responsible and effective youth leaders. The training emphasized character building through the Scout ideals, citizenship training, community involvement, and self-reliance.

The program also supported the advancement goals of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines by equipping participants with the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values needed as they take on greater responsibilities in the Scouting movement.

During the closing program, the organizers and school leadership also acknowledged the efforts of the participants and those who helped make the training possible. Their presence during the culminating activity reinforced the importance of collaboration among Scout leaders, schools, and other stakeholders in providing meaningful leadership opportunities for young people.

Beyond the certificates and recognition received, the Scouts were reminded that completing the training comes with greater responsibility. As patrol and crew leaders, they are expected to guide their fellow Scouts, promote teamwork and discipline, lead by example, and put into practice the principles of Scouting in their everyday lives.

Scout leaders and adult facilitators likewise played an important role in guiding the participants throughout the training and ensuring that the activities were conducted in accordance with the standards and ideals of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines.

The closing and awarding ceremony became a celebration not only of the participants’ completion of the course but also of their growth as young leaders prepared to take on new challenges and responsibilities.

Through the PLTC and CLTC, the Boy Scouts of the Philippines–Isabela Council continues to provide opportunities that nurture leadership, character, service, and responsible citizenship among Scouts, inspiring them to become dependable leaders in their schools, communities, and the nation.

Isinasagawa ng Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP)–Isabela Council ang Council-Wide Scouts Leadership Training Courses sa Burgos National High School ngayong Setyembre 7–8, 2026.

Kabilang sa mga pagsasanay ang Patrol Leaders Training Course (PLTC) para sa Boy Scout Section at Crew Leaders Training Course (CLTC) para sa Senior Scout Section.

Layunin ng pagsasanay na mapaunlad ang kakayahan sa pamumuno at paghubog ng karakter ng mga scout sa pamamagitan ng pagsasabuhay ng Scout Ideals.

Itinatampok din sa programa ang Citizenship Training, pakikilahok sa komunidad, at mga kasanayang kailangan upang maging self-reliant.

Ayon sa memorandum ng BSP–Isabela Council na inilabas noong Agosto 19, 2026, bahagi rin ng pagsasanay ang pagtupad sa kinakailangang training sa ilalim ng National Scout New Advancement Scheme.
