It pains me to start off like this, but if you have not read, listened to and or watched the movie of Ready Player One, please stop what you are doing. Do whatever you can to read/listen to/watch Ready Player One. If you regularly read this site you will enjoy the story more than you can imagine and this post will not spoil anything for you. This was my spoiler alert and now we will be returning you to our regularly scheduled programming.

The much-anticipated sequel to Ernest Cline’s bestseller Ready Player One, Ready Player Two explores what happens to Wade Watts and company directly after winning full control of the OASIS. It was recently announced that the release date for the book is November 24th of this year along with the cover art but that was it.

Over the weekend Penguin Random House announced the official plot synopsis and pre-order info, and I am all over it. Check it out:

If Cline keeps with tradition, there will be a scavenger hunt embedded in the physical copy. Or you can get the audiobook read to you by Wil Wheaton, who did a phenomenal job bringing to life Cline’s two other bestsellers, Ready Player One and Armada.

I have been anxiously anticipating the release of this book since I finished the first book and every subsequent time after that. The movie helped to ease the tension, however, it just didn’t hit like the book did for me.

HBO is developing an interesting new vampire drama that’s set in the world of hip hop. The show will be titled Thirst and it is being created by Macro Television Studios and the writing team of Leah Benavides Rodriguez and Carlito Rodriguez.

The upcoming series tells the story of “a brilliant but cocky Atlanta rapper who thinks he’s found his way to stardom when he links up with hip-hop’s hottest group. But he has no idea they are hiding a terrifying secret: They are a family of vampires with roots going back centuries.”

Benavides Rodriguez and Rodriguez said in a joint statement:

“Music has been integral to both our lives, and ‘Thirst’ is the perfect opportunity to blend genres, while exploring the intersection of fame, culture and what it means to be American. We’re excited to bring it to life with Macro Television Studios and the rest of our dope team, and thrilled it has found its home at HBO.”

Oppo smart TV launch is set for October 19, the company revealed through a teaser posted on Weibo. The official teaser doesn't provide any details around the size of the anticipated Oppo smart TV. However, a recent listing on the Compulsory Certification of China (3C) site suggested that the smart TV could come in 55- and 65-inch screen sizes and have as many as 10 models for each. The Oppo smart TV is also likely to come with a pop-up camera that could be used for video conferencing.

As per the teaser image, the Oppo smart TV launch is taking place in China on October 19. The image carries a tagline that reads, “one more step.” This underlines the company's entrance in the smart TV market that it made official at the Oppo Developer Conference (ODC) 2020 last month.

Oppo hasn't provided any further details about the new smart TV launch. However, a listing on its online retail partner JD.com's site confirms that the company is set to launch its smart TV in 55- and 65-inch sizes. This is identical to what was reportedly seen on the 3C site a few days back. The company will distinguish the two versions of the smart TV by calling them Oppo Smart TV R1 55-inch and Oppo Smart TV S1 65-inch.

Further, Oppo appears to have new truly wireless (TWS) earbuds in plans for the October 19 launch that would be called the Oppo Enco X, according to the JD.com listing. The Oppo Watch League of Legends Limited Edition that is also likely to join the new smart TV and wireless earbuds launch.

The Oppo smart TV is tipped to come with a Quantum Dot display panel along with 4K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The TV is also rumoured to have speakers tuned by a top Danish audio label that could be none other than Bang & Olufsen. Oppo recently teased its smart TV by sharing a 4K footage at 120fps on Weibo.

In May, Oppo sibling Realme entered the smart TV market by launching its 32- and 43-inch versions based on Android TV. The Realme smart TV carries a starting price of Rs. 12,999. The company also recently expanded its smart TV portfolio with the launch of the Realme Smart SLED TV in 55-inch size.

Redmi Smart TV A65 has been launched in China as the latest entrant in the company's A series of smart TVs. Xiaomi announced the Redmi Smart TV A series last month and said that it will include sizes ranging from 32-inch to 65-inch. The 65-inch model has now been released for the Chinese market and comes with 4K resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. The Redmi Smart TV A65 is quite slim and features narrow bezels all around. The smart TV runs on MIUI for TV.

Redmi Smart TV A65 is priced at CNY 2,599 (roughly Rs. 28,300) and is currently on sale in China through JD.com and Xiaomi Youpin. As of now, Xiaomi has not shared information on the India pricing and availability for Redmi Smart TV A65.

As the name suggests, Redmi Smart TV A65 features a 65-inch display with 4K (3,840x2,160 pixels) resolution. It offers 178-degree field of view along with 60Hz refresh rate. You also get HDR support with Redmi Smart TV A65. The smart TV is powered by the 64-bit quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU and Mali G52 GPU with 1.5GB RAM and 8GB of storage. For connectivity, you get 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and IR support. There is a selection of ports including two HDMI ports (with ARC support on one), two USB ports, an S/PDIF port, and an AV port.

The audio is handled by two 8W speakers that support DTS-HD. Redmi Smart TV A65 runs MIUI for TV 3.0 and gives access to Mi app store as well as some pre-installed apps. The smart TV measures 1,457.7x840mm and weighs 17.4kg. It can be wall mounted as well.
