Cebu’s PG Royalty: Manalili, Bahay, or Enriquez?
Cebu hoops is LOADED at the one spot right now, and these three floor generals are making serious noise: Jonathan Moses Manalili, Steve Nash Enriquez , and Jared Bahay. Different styles, same problem for defenders.
Cebu—the Queen City of the South—has long been a cradle of Philippine hoops greatness. For years, it was the land of towering titans, from Ramon Fernandez to June Mar Fajardo, Greg Slaughter, and JR Quiñahan. But the game has evolved, and so has Cebu. Today, the province is a hotbed for elite perimeter talent, led by three sensational point guards: Jared Bahay, Jonathan “Titing” Manalili, and Steve Nash Enriquez.
Bahay, the 5'9" maestro from Sacred Heart School–Ateneo de Cebu, rewrote the high school script—becoming the first guard and only the second player to top the prestigious NBTC 24 in back-to-back years. A CESAFI Juniors MVP and two-time champion, he brings big-game poise, surgical vision, and clutch shot-making to the collegiate spotlight.
Manalili, the engine of the Letran Squires, is cut from the same elite cloth. Ranked No. 6 in the 2024 NBTC 24, he’s a tempo-setting playmaker with double-digit dime potential and a winning backbone—proof that Cebuano guards aren’t just flashy; they’re drivers of victories.
Steve Nash Enriquez from Minglanilla Cebu who first broke out at the NBTC Elite 60 camp, earning Elite Five and Most Outstanding Player honors and a Batang Gilas pool call-up. He starred for UV before moving to Nazareth School–NU (Bullpups) and later committing to the NU Bulldogs in the UAAP. Known for pace control and unselfish play, Enriquez pairs pull-up shot-making with sharp reads—yes, real table-setting chops, from hit-ahead passes to no-look dimes.
Together, Bahay, Manalili, and Enriquez define Cebu’s new identity: a guard factory producing creativity, composure, and championship DNA—proof that the throne has moved from the post to the perimeter.
