ATLFF'23 SPOTLIGHT - ᏓᏗᏬᏂᏏ (WE WILL SPEAK) (w/ RADIO BINGO)

The schedule for is officially out! Leading up to the festival, we'll spotlight the films that will be part of the festivities.

On Thursday, April 27th, at 6:30 PM, at Plaza Atlanta is ᏓᏗᏬᏂᏏ (WE WILL SPEAK) (w/ RADIO BINGO).
While there are 430,000 Cherokee citizens in the three federally recognized tribes, fewer than an estimated 2,000 fluent speakers remain—the majority of whom are elderly. Language activists, artists, and the youth must now lead the charge to help save the language from extinction.

I am very sad to write this but I have to be realistic. Production for Moon Eyes is being pushed indefinitely due to conflicts that left us without the cast we need to continue. Given the short time frame, it's not possible to fix things and I want to apologize personally to everyone who has supported this production. Everyone who has currently donated/contributed to the most recent Indiegogo campaign will be refunded their money. Your support means the world to me and I wouldn't want to keep these funds without having a clear idea of when this project is going to go into production. If you gave money another way (there's at least one of you I'm thinking about), I'll also reach out to get your contribution refunded. Likewise, even if you didn't contribute monetarily, your support has been amazing and I am truly sorry that I am not able to live up to expectations. The screenplay still exists so maybe someday we'll be able to see it produced. I have informed the rest of the cast and crew and will be working on refunding the Indiegogo contributors today. Thank you to those that helped make the teaser which really made this feel like it could happen, even if it was overly ambitious. And again, I'm so sorry for disappointing anyone, especially if you are anywhere near as disappointed as I am.
