STRONGER SUPERVISION, FASTER RESPONSE: CPNP TORRE SETS HIGHER POLICING STANDARDS

By order of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to ensure swift and efficient police service in line with the thrust of Bagong Pilipinas, Philippine National Police Chief, Police General Nicolas D. Torre III, convened a Command Conference yesterday, June 18, 2025, at the PNP Main Conference Room in Camp Crame.

The conference focused on two primary concerns: the implementation of the 5-Minute Response Time Strategy and the sustained nationwide deployment of police personnel. One of the key highlights of the day was the conduct of a Simulation Exercise (SIMEX), which tested the real-time ex*****on of the 5-minute response protocol—a central element of the Chief PNP’s reform agenda.

Coinciding with the simulation was an actual shooting incident in Cotabato City, which was swiftly addressed by responding police personnel. The response was captured through body-worn camera footage from a member of Cotabato City Police Station 1, providing compelling evidence of the strategy’s real-world effectiveness and relevance.

A total of ten police units participated in the simulation, which measured their ability to respond within the five-minute standard. These included seven units from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), two from Police Regional Office 3, and one each from Police Regional Offices 11, 7, and 4A.

This exercise followed the earlier relief of eight Chiefs of Police who were found non-compliant with the 5-minute response policy. The move sent a strong message that poor performance and lack of visibility on the ground would not be tolerated. For PGen Torre, the commitment to timely and effective public service is non-negotiable.

Nimando na ang Senate impeachment court sa kamara pagcertify nga wala kini nakalapas sa one- year ban alang sa pagsang-at sa impeachment cases batok kang VP Sara.

Agig tubag sa maong kamandoan, gisagop sa kamara ang resolution nga nagcertify nga ang ilang impeachment proceedings batok sa Bise Presidente naka-comply sa 1987 konstitusyon.

SENATE SENDS DUTERTE IMPEACHMENT BACK TO HOUSE.

The Senate’s decision to remand the articles of impeachment against Vice President Sara Duterte back to the House has important legal and political implications. Legally, it shows that the Senate sees the case as not yet ready for trial — perhaps due to procedural issues or incomplete information in the articles. By returning them, the Senate is not dismissing the case but instructing the House to address these issues before proceeding.

Specifically, under the Rules of Procedure in Impeachment Cases, the Senate has the authority to review whether the articles of impeachment comply with procedural requirements. If the Senate finds issues such as defect or insufficiency in the articles, or if certain procedural steps have not been met, it can return or remand the case to the House for correction or clarification.

Politically, this move could be a strategic pause, reflecting caution or disagreement with how the case was filed. With 18 senators voting to return the articles, it suggests a cautious approach, while the 5 (Pimentel, Hontiveros, Binay, Poe, and Gatchalian) voting against might favor moving the process forward sooner.

CPNP TORRE: "NO QUOTAS, NO KILLINGS — ONLY SWIFT, LAWFUL POLICE ACTION"

With President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. at the forefront of promoting a new era of disciplined, professional, and service-oriented policing, Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Police General Nicolas D. Torre III, emphasized decisive reforms in police operations, strict discipline, and unwavering respect for human rights during a joint Malacañang Press Briefing with Usec. Claire Castro on June 4, 2025.

In the briefing moderated by Malacañang Press Corps, PGen Torre detailed the PNP’s strengthened deployment of Quick Response Teams (QRTs) aimed at increasing police visibility and improving response time across Metro Manila. "Our goal is clear: to respond to 911 calls within five minutes. And in the next three months, we will reduce that to three minutes," he declared.

The Chief PNP also made firm pronouncements against questionable police practices, stressing a zero-tolerance policy on misconduct:

"There will be no quotas on arrests. Planting of evidence is a grave offense — kapag ginawa nila ‘yun ididismiss ko sila sa service. Ipapakulong ko sila for incriminatory machinations,” PGen Torre stated.

In a strong message underscoring professionalism and accountability, PGen Torre reiterated:

"Buhay ang taong huhuliin. Walang patay. We don’t condone wanton killings or wanton murders. Arrests must be carried out with utmost regard for human life — unless police lives are clearly endangered."

The PNP Chief reaffirmed the organization’s cooperation with the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) in addressing complaints against erring personnel, signaling stronger institutional accountability.

On the campaign against illegal drugs, PGen Torre revealed that over ₱44 billion worth of illegal drugs have already been confiscated under ongoing intensified operations.

COOP MANAGER, SIKOP SA DRUG BUYBUST OPERATION !

HILONGOS, LEYTE - Sikop sa mga tinugyanan sa balaod ang usa ka Coop Manager, subay sa Drug Buy-bust Operation nga gihimo kaganihang alas 7:40 ang takna ning kagabhion didto sa Brgy. Pontod, lungsod sa Hilongos, lalawigan sa Leyte.

Ang naaresto giila sa ngalan nga si alyas "Soc", 40-anyos, minyo, Coop Manager - Hindang Branch, residente sa Brgy. Labrador, Hinunangan Leyte.

Uban sa pagkaaresto sa suspek mao ang iyang kauban nga si alyas "Sha", 22-anyos, dalaga, residente sa Brgy. Poblacion District 1, Silago, Southern leyte.

Ang drug buybust operation gipangunahan sa PDEA Southern Leyte Provincial Office, Provincia Intellugence Team, Southern leyte, Regional Intelligence Unit 8, PDEA Leyte Provincial Office, PDEA Seaport Interdiction Unit ug sa mga sakop sa Hilongos Municipal Police Station.

Rally sa PDP laban karung April, 23,2025, ipahigayon sa Sogod, So. Leyte.

Gibutyag ni Dr. Joselito Trumata organizer sa partido nga imbitado ang tanang mga supporters ni Du30 isip suporta sa mga kandidato PDP.

Ang nasangpit nga event paga sugdan sa usa ka motorkada manukad sa Devisoria, Bontoc Southern Leyte sa may alas tress sa hapon sa naasoy'ng petsa, diin magtagbo sa Sogod Plaza, og paga sugdan sa may alas singko sa hapon ang rally sa partido.

Paga himoon usab ang pag isa sa kamot niadtong mga gidawat sa partido, aduna usab screening committee nga maoy mo rekomenda niadtong mga Indipendente nga boot mouban sa gropo.
