Found this hidden gem at the Goodwill bookstore for $2.99 and couldn’t be happier with how it pairs with my book.

Added some shark teeth (because Florida life) and a plant and boom this little corner of the house is complete 🙌🏼

I’ve been on the hunt for this lady since I learned about burlwood in book purchase last year.

A wood burl happens when a tree has a growth or deformity due to infestation or illness (some kind of stress). It’s found in oak, maple, walnut, cherry, ash, redwood, and other tree species. It’s usually found in the roots or curled branches. Some people think of the growths as ugly imperfections but others see them as rare and beautiful.

It represents to me an analogy of looking at life’s challenges or stressors as an opportunity for growth and beauty rather than an ugly burden. She’s the perfect addition to our perfectly imperfect life🤍

If this stack of buckets doesn’t sum up mom life than I don’t know what does🫣

Last week of school means school parties, theme days where you dress up to every letter of the alphabet, snack on this day, pizza on that day, bring in juices for everyone in the class, make a sculpture of an elephant, don’t come to school on this day, take all four kids to the beach by yourself the next day and the list goes on.

Then I quickly think back to those early days of Covid life where I longed to be busy running my kids to activities, making friends, building memories, and thriving. Then familiar thought comes to mind. These are the days my friends.

⭐️Mothers Day Monday⭐️ yeeeep it’s a thing! My wonderful husband made it up after a long weekend with the kids.

Let’s be honest, Mother’s Day is a break from all the daily grind only to be greeted with it on Monday morning.

Instead, off to the spa I went! Only to be greeted with reality on Monday night and a huuuuuge pile of laundry Tuesday morning but ya know what, self care is necessary!

5 years ago I would have never agreed to such things. I was anxious to leave the kids, plagued with guilt about what I’d miss out on, but also terribly sad on the inside that I didn’t know how to advocate for my own needs.

It’s a journey friends, we’re all in this together🤍

Been a minute here! I won’t lie, it’s been a year. Anyone ever have one of those?
We moved to Florida and encountered a literal and figurative hurricane. I’m just coming out of it and feeling ready to get back to sharing and creating.

I’ll be honest, this space I created for myself as an outlet felt like just one more place for people(and me) to judge myself, my parenting, my choices, my everything.

But after a soul searching year I’ve decided to say fair well to caring and worrying about what other people think of me. It’s been a revelation and a journey. And I am HERE for it. Come along as a share my “journey back to me”.
