On December 24th, Ofc. Lewis Letton responded to a shooting, where he found a male with a gunshot wound. Being the first on-scene, Ofc. Letton assessed the victim and immediately applied his department-issued tourniquet to prevent further blood loss. Ofc. Letton assisted the victim to the ambulance that arrived and he was transported to a local trauma center for his injuries. Ofc. Letton's quick thinking and appropriate life-saving measures likely saved the victim's life.

On February 7, 2022, Ofc. Letton was awarded the VFW Life Saving Award for his actions during this call. Ofc. Letton also received Officer of the Year at the City Council Meeting. Congratulations Ofc. Letton, thank you for your dedication to the Del City community.
