The FIGHTER 2 COMING ????? 🏆
Hey, everyone
I’m not sure when THE FIGHTER 2 will be released quite yet, but I’ve been working on a piece of music I thought would be a way to highlight my piano playing with a really cool arrangement behind it.
So, I worked on the arrangement and played the piano to the arrangement. I didn’t mix it well and the piano was too loud. I decided I would work on the arrangement and leave the piano out for the time being. I listened to the arrangement and I realized right away it doesn’t need a solo instrument playing on top of it.
It could, but it doesn’t need it (the solo instrument on top also doesn’t need to be a piano, it could be a synth, or a classical guitar or an electric guitar, but we’re leaving that aside for now).
Long story short, I listened to the arrangement without the solo instrument on top and found THE FIGHTER 2 🏆
Here are my notes on finishing the DEMO (they say don’t mix the DEMO, but how do I know I have everything I need if I don’t complete the DEMO as much as possible. For example, if I don’t balance the snare, how do I know I even have the right snare sound?):
Verse
Try Fade out of TOMS
End one sound, then the other
Build
Soft opening
Experiment with this section to bring out the beauty
Chorus
Possibly add a Melody scoop (scoop out the first part of the sound on the beat)
Impacts?

Add possible glistening/crystal synth shots
impact here or there?
Build 2
More TOMS
Better MIX
Chorus 2
Balance MIX
BRIDGE
Working on the quick middle eight with signature piano sound
Chorus 3
Add a touch of magic.
* Check to see if a cymbal is needed somewhere, get a few things out of the way of others.
That’s it 😃
And then it goes in my MIXING template where I have to remember all the moves I made on the DEMO mix.
The mixing will take a couple of days. I don’t try to do the whole thing in one day to give my ears plenty of rest in the mixing process.
Well, that’s the way it goes and what I’ve been thinking about today (besides all the other crazy stuff happening around the world).
