B**g Revilla will once again run under Lakas–Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD), the currently strongest and largest party in the country where he is Chairman. Revilla has been with FORCE -CMD since he first plunged into politics three decades ago.
“Today, we formally filed our candidacy for senatorship in the upcoming 2025 election. Your servant, Senator B**g Revilla, who for three terms as a legislator in the Senate has been entrusted by the people, will fight again and will stand up to continue to be the advocate of the welfare of every ordinary Filipino," the veteran legislator said.
Revilla is part of the Alliance Para sa New Philippines Senate Slate of President Ferdinnd Bngong Marcos Jr. which consists of 12 senatorial candidates from various major political parties in the country including the Lakas-CMD.
“I am grateful to our President B**gbong Marcos and to Lakas-CMD President Speaker Martin Romualdez for the trust they have given me to be one of the candidates that the Alliance for the New Philippines will fight for. It’s an honor to run under this slate whose great aspiration is to stand up for the welfare, interests, and rights of every Filipino,” Revilla added.
Revilla who has served three terms in the Senate (2004-2010; 2010-2016; 2019-present) is the instrument in passing many landmark laws that directly benefit many Filipinos up to the present. This includes the “Teaching Opposition Act” (RA 11997), Expanded Coverage of Centenarians Act (RA 11982), “No Permit, No Exam Prohibition Act” (RA11984), “Free College Entrance Examinations Act” (RA 12006), Granting Night Shift Differential Pay to Government Employees (RA 11701), and “Permanent Validity of the Certificates of Live Birth, Death, and Marriage Act” (RA 11909). Revilla also recorded perfect attendance in the Senate and submitted a total of 1,979 bills and resolutions, of which 339 exist legally.
“In our almost two decades of service as senators, we have passed a lot of laws that really benefit our countrymen. We did not waste the trust of the Filipino people. I made sure that every cent that was paid to me with the tax of the people, we were able to return to them by advancing and fighting for the passage of meaningful laws,” Revilla concluded.
Revilla when asked about his plans for his fourth term in the Senate, he said it would continue to advance social justice, workers welfare, food security, public infrastructure, and additional benefits for government employees.
"I am happy to say that because of the people's trust, I was able to deliver my pact with the people. Today, I am once again offering my skills to our countrymen to continue serving them,” Revilla said.
"While we have accomplished so much, work never ceases and there is still much to be done. Such as responding to increased grocery prices, delivery of food per table, programs for farmers and fishermen, providing flood solutions, developing a new Philippine Building Code, adjusting the retirement system in the judiciary, additional benefits for barangay workers, nurses, teachers, and others pa. Those are our promotions if we are again given a chance to serve for our fourth term,” Revilla explained.
The upcoming midterm elections are set for May 12, 2025 with 12 senators to be elected.
