Today is the Balidan Diwas of the founder of Ranvir Sena, Shaheed Brahmeshwar Mukhiya ji. To save the farmers from the atrocities of the Naxalites, he formed an army to answer the Naxalites in their own language, which was named Ranvir Sena. This was mainly an army of upper caste farmers, whose fields and barns were burnt by the Naxalites and the farmers were killed.
History of Ranvir Sena
Ranvir Sena is a farmer organization of the exploited upper castes of India, whose main working area is Bihar. It is different from other farmer organizations, because it is mainly an organization of caste-based Bhumihar Brahmins and its main objective is to protect the lands of all types of farmers. The lands are illegally occupied by the Naxalites and upper caste farmers have been massacred.
Ranvir Sena was established in 1995 in the village of Belaur in Bhojpur district of central Bihar. Actually, the farmers of the district were troubled by the atrocities of the Naxalite organization called CPI ML (Liberation) and were looking for an alternative. Such farmers, on the initiative of social workers, prepared the outline of the organization through small meetings. A big farmer rally was held in the premises of the middle school of Belaur and the formation of Ranvir Kisan Mahasangh was announced. Then the former Mukhiya of Khopira Barmeshwar Singh, Congress leader Janardan Rai of Bartiyar, Bhola Singh of Ekwari, Professor Devendra Singh of Tirthakaul, Yugeshwar Singh of Bhatauli, Advocate Chaudhary of Belaur, Congress leader Dr. Kamalakant Sharma of Dhanchhuhan and Mukhiya Awadhesh Kumar Singh of Khandol played a major role. These people went from village to village and inspired the farmers to stand up against the atrocities of the ML. Initially, only people with licensed weapons joined them. Then a stock of illegal weapons also started accumulating. In Bhojpur, those farmers were ahead who were facing the economic blockade of the Naxalites. At the time when Ranvir Kisan Sangh was formed, CPI (ML) Liberation had imposed an economic blockade against medium and small farmers in many villages of Bhojpur. Nearly five thousand acres of land was lying fallow. Farming was banned and laborers were forcibly stopped from working in the fields. Crops were being burnt in many villages and farmers were facing difficulties in organizing functions like marriages. These circumstances created an environment for farmers to unite and retaliate. This is the ground reality of the formation of Ranvir Sena.
After the formation of the organization in Bhojpur, Ranvir Sena took its first revenge in Sarathuan village, where Ranvir Sena killed 5 Naxalites together. Later, a series of massacres started. The Bihar government immediately banned this Kisan Sena of the upper castes. But violent activities continued. After the ban, its armed squad started moving around in the name of Ranvir Sangram Samiti. In fact, CPI (ML) itself gave this organization the name of Ranvir Sena. And it came to be called the barbaric army of upper caste feudal lords. On one hand, the killer squad of CPI (ML) kept shedding blood, while in revenge, the fighters of Ranvir Sena also kept playing Holi with blood. After a battle of violence and counter-violence that lasted for about five years, peace gradually returned. But in the meantime, Ranvir Sena gained influence in Jehanabad, Arwal, Gaya, Aurangabad, Rohtas, Buxar and Kaimur districts of central Bihar. Later, an organization called Rashtriya Kisan Mahasangh was formed. The Mahasangh held several rallies in Ramna Maidan of Ara and large public programs were also held in some villages. Rang Bahadur Singh, a Rajput caste farmer resident of Ichari of Jagdishpur, was made its first president. Rang Bahadur Singh also contested the election from Ara Lok Sabha seat and got around one lakh votes. Ranvir Sena's founder supremo Barmeshwar Singh alias Mukhiyaji was arrested in a dramatic manner in Patna. After being arrested, he remained in Ara jail. While in jail, he also contested the Lok Sabha elections and made his power felt by getting 1.5 lakh votes. Today, the activities of Ranvir Sena have almost stopped. At present, if there is any glimpse, then it is Shriman Ashutosh Kumar who is trying to stand with the society by following the path shown by him.
People of our own society are said to be involved in the murder of our Baba. How sad it is that the person who killed thousands of evil people for the society, was murdered by his own people through a conspiracy. On this very day, he was shot dead while taking a morning walk in the village. The case is with the CBI but due to the rule of Nitish and Lalu, the killer has not been traced yet.
Today is a holy day to remember the work done by Baba. I pay true tribute to उज्जवल कश्यप
