Sailing Frida af Wisby

Our MMSI has been spoofed we are not on Svalbard. We know for sure that Frida are still safely on Aktion Boatyard in Preveza.

We have tries to report it to PTS who the authorithy responsible for giving out MmSI and VHF licenses in Sweden but we didn’t got any usuable respons so we just have to see what happens when we get back in the water and turn on the AIS in September.

This is episode number 100 in our sailing adventure and tomorrow it´s actually 5 years since we departed from our homeport in Vändburg on Gotland. It has been 5 fantastic years and despite the ups and downs as a sailor we never regretted that we embarked on this adventure and we promise we have a lot more to share.

In this episode it will be a lot of sailing because autumn is closing in and the weather windows are harder to find as we hurry south along the east coast of Sardinia to our winterberth in Cagliari.

Now we are on the hard in Preveza Greece and are about to leave Frida to go back to Sweden and work. As usual we got a long list of boatwork to do during the summer but before we leave we try to fo some jobs ourselves cleaning and checking the anchorchain is one of them unfortunatly the last 15 m chain that has been furthest down in the anchorlocker was reslly rusty. But we think our chain is long enough to just shorten it. We are thinking about putting something in the botten of the locker that drain so that the chain will not lay in salt water

Finally a new video in this episode Gitte falls in love - with an island. We rent a car and together with our friends and buddy boat Tintomara are we doing 3 amazing roadtrips and we discover that Corsica is a real jewel in the Mediterranean Sea and it seams to us that many sailors skip this island but our advise don´t and take your time to explore it. We even advise our land lubber friends and followers with RV´s consider to give this somewhat forgotten island a visit!

But before we can start to explore we need to fix our genua!

Today in pictures appartfrom relaxing and eating good we have scraped about a third of Fridas botton so tomorrow the scraping project continues its only about 16-17 degree C in the water so wetsuit is needed

After a day and night with gale force wind we woke up to a calm day today. We decided to first make a little dingy tour to the abanded marina to fly the drone a little. After that we went to town to get som greek food on the way we saw seaturles can you see it? We had a delicious meal sitting right on the waterfront. While we wherewaiting for the food I noticed a fruit and vegetable store. After I finished my meal I left Abders and went to check it out and came back loaded with lots of wonderful greens.
Back on the boat again I decided to take a swim we finish this incredible day just relaxing and watching some videos from some of our favorite sailing channels.

This was a summary of our day😀

We have arrived and are anchored in Argostoli, Greece where we plan to stay and relax a couple of days before we start making our way to Preveza where we plan to leave the boat this summer. We had both a little bit of a ruff ride and very calm sailing but for the first time we broke a sail so if you have any tips where we can do sail repair in the area please write us a comment.
