Cloudy conditions return to the region today, with near normal high temperature. Light rain and snow showers are possible across the southeast ridges through the morning and afternoon hours, but little to no accumulation is expected.

Cloudy conditions will persist overnight, with low temperature in the upper 20's to lower 30's. Light snow showers will remain possible mainly north and east of Pittsburgh overnight, with up to 1" near Lake Erie and around the ridges and little to no accumulation elsewhere.

Temperatures are expected to not climb too far from where we are right now. Scattered rain showers will continue throughout the day as embedded shortwaves pass through the region. Snow returns late this evening/tonight.

Quite the warm-up today! Pittsburgh started the morning at 9°F and warmed up to 36°F this afternoon. The warming trend continues on Thursday with temperatures topping out in the 40s. Quiet weather continues through Thursday.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for our entire region for a low pressure system that is expected to bring wintry mix and snow starting tomorrow morning. Stay tuned for updated snowfall/ice total graphics.

Wait. Temperatures in the 60s? In January?? In the morning??? Believe it! We'll probably topple at least a couple of record highs today. Take advantage of the warmth to bring inside anything that might get blown around tonight by the strong wind.

High Wind Watches and Wind Advisories have been issued for tonight through Sunday afternoon. Strong gusty winds are expected behind the cold front tonight, with gusts up to 60 mph across the ridges and higher elevations, and gusts up to 50 mph elsewhere.
Now is the time to secure anything that can blow around outside! 🌬

Areas that won't see rain today could approach the low-60s, including Pittsburgh. Temperatures will linger in the low-50s/upper-40s near I-80.
