Art can be described as an object or experience consciously created through expressions of skill or imagination in diverse forms. Visual arts are art that meets the eye and evokes emotion through an expression of skill and imagination. They include ancient forms such as painting and drawing, and the arts that were born thanks to the development of technology like sculpture, printmaking, photography, and installation art.
Born in Zundert, Netherlands on the 30th of March 1853, Vincent Willem van Gogh, a Dutch Post-impressionist painter created approximately 2100 artworks in just over a decade. They include landscapes, still-life portraits, and self-portraits which are characterized by bold, symbolic colours and dramatic, impulsive, and highly expressive work that contributed to the foundations of modern art.
He was aged 37 and survived by his brother, Theodore Van Gogh. He sold only one painting during his lifetime and became famous after his su***de which was presumed to be triggered by years of poverty and mental illness. His notable works are Sunflowers (1887), Bedroom in Arles (1888), The Starry Night (1889), Wheatfield with Crows (1890), Sorrowing old man (1890).
