My Refreshing Sunday… 🌸

It was a sunny day at my sister’s home, and we woke up late since we slept so late the night before. We spent the morning watching movies in the sala, and while preparing breakfast, I chatted with my daughter on a video call. Everyone was excited because something special was coming, we had a plan, God’s will….

After breakfast, we decided to try a Moroccan bath, it's a full-body scrubbing with a steaming body mask. It took more than two hours before my sister and I were done. When we got back home, Jollibee food was waiting for us. After eating, it was back to a movie marathon.

And just like that, my day off came to an end. Thank God for moments like these. They remind me to appreciate even the little things, because some people don’t get the chance. Still, they keep hoping and moving forward in life and so should we. ✨

My Unusual Friday...

It’s straight duty every Friday at my work. We’re used to it, from 1 to 12 pm. It’s really a tiring day, but it’s good also because that means we have more clients, which is a sign of good business…

As all-around technicians, I’m super busy. I feel the pain in my back and fingers, but still, I do my work from my heart. My fifth client even said that we do our work with focus and from the heart.

At that time, I felt my hands so numb and tired, also painful. I was feeling like I couldn’t finish and wanted to ask help from my colleagues, but I knew everyone was tired too. So I just continued doing my best. I gave my full energy to my work just to give my client a good service.

Then something unexpected happened, my client said she felt me. She said that even though I was almost out of energy, I still gave my best to serve her. She even understood a little Tagalog. She said she would give me tips that I really deserve.

I felt so blessed and happy... After a long day of work, all my back pain was gone... because of my client satisfaction... 💕

God is good all the time... 🙏✨ That's all I can say....

My Sunday….

It was a lovely day… everything was fine… quiet… I woke up at 10:45 a.m., had a good sleep, no dreams… and got ready to go to work.

When I arrived at work, not much busy… everything was okay. Then my first client was from Quarter… she said she’s a madam… she has 4 Filipina housemaids… and her house is on the 3rd floor. While I was doing her, we talked a little Arabic and English.

Then I offered her some services and she agreed to have them done… she even gave me a tip. She said she will bring me to her country to be her personal technician… I just said, “Okay, let’s see.” She said they will be back next month… Happy naman ang ka-Marites nyo.

Time pass by… more clients done… and the whole workday finished. Time to go back to the accommodation. Another new experience again in my everyday work at the salon. Sometimes it’s too tiring… but we have to be positive. Everything will change, no matter how hard the situation… it will change.

My Friday….

It was a straight duty today. Not really busy, so the hours at work passed slowly. Everything was fine, but it only got busy at night when the clients started arriving.

Time passed, and I tried to catch the last trip of the carlift going home. I walked fast and even ran a bit. Luckily, I made it otherwise, I would have had to wait another hour or take a taxi, which would be more expensive.

While on the way, I started feeling hungry and was thinking about what I should eat at home. I prayed that there would be food waiting anything at all. Thankfully, when I arrived home, there was food from my workmates. I ate right away and felt so good and blessed. It was the best feeling ever.

Then I prepared myself for sleep. Every night, I pray for my family, friends, and everyone that they may always be in good health and in a safe place, and that God will keep us all away from harm. That is my prayer to the Creator.

A Precious Wednesday….

It was a sunny afternoon when we decided to go to the beach to relax and watch the sunset. The kids were so happy, and my sister and I felt refreshed.

We brought drinks, chips, and bread, and we also ordered mandy chicken with rice. We even got free strawberry drinks from the lifeguard, who was giving them to everyone.

Even with the high temperature, we still enjoyed the moment. We must cherish all the precious moments that come into our lives.

Before darkness came, we reached home. The kids were tired but happy. We had dinner and enjoyed a movie marathon together.

In life, we have to appreciate all the little things we have. Even if we lack many things, what matters most is that we are healthy and free from illness. That alone is a great blessing to thank God, our Creator, for.

My Day Today...

Tuesday morning, I woke up excited to go to work. I just prayed to God for a peaceful day at the salon.

It wasn’t too busy today, most people are still out of the country on vacation. The day felt long, and there was one issue between one of the hairdressers and the assistant. What a day… But in the end, we’re all one team at the salon.

When evening came, I was excited to visit my sister and her kids in Sharjah. I took the carlift bus from the mall to Al Khan, just to save money on transport. When I reached the station, the bus was almost full, and the only available seat was in the middle, so I sat there. Good thing I’m petite!

While we were on the way, I noticed that every passenger looked tired and exhausted, some sleepy, some hungry. I told myself, “I’m still lucky to have the kind of work I have.”

Each of us is fighting our own battles for the future.
Our journey never ends… until the day of our last breath.

Today’s Story...

While I was doing a client's nails, she suddenly started to cry. I asked her, “Madam, why are you crying?”
She responded, “Nothing,” and just wiped her tears and smiled.

I remembered her she’s been a client at the salon since last year. Back then, she had a baby who was still small, not even walking yet. But now, her baby is already two years old. While I was doing her nails, the baby was sleeping in the stroller. She kept looking at her baby while I worked.

I started wondering what the reason was behind her tears. My mind was busy thinking. Then I realized, maybe she’s going through postpartum. As a nail technician, I observed that she had a lot of dry skin and weak nails. Maybe she doesn’t have much time for herself because of her baby.

She also shared with me that her husband told her not to remove all her dry skin or cuticles because it might get worse. I told her, “That’s normal, Madam. Especially if you're doing house chores every day. That’s why, once in a while, you need to pamper yourself to relax. Have someone do your nails, your hair, get a body massage… to regain your energy and confidence as a woman.”

Sometimes, we have no idea what people are going through in their daily lives. But sharing and giving advice even just a few words can really help. It can open their minds and help them keep going in life.

To have peace of mind is priceless.
Happiness is inner peace.

Month of March, as I remember...

I was on closing duty at my work. I went to the bathroom, and when I finished, I saw a phone. It didn’t look too expensive. I checked the display picture, it was a cute girl, probably the owner. I just put it in my pocket. I was thinking about how to give it back to her.
I remembered the lost and found in the mall and also thought, if I gave it to the janitress, I knew she would hand it over to the security guard and then bring it to the lost and found. So I decided to keep it and wait for a call. The lost and found of the mall is very far… almost end-to-end.

After 10 or 15 minutes, the phone rang, and I answered. It was the mother on the other line. She said, “That’s my daughter’s phone.” I said, “I found it in the toilet at Parking 4, near the cinema.” The mother said her daughter would come to get the phone. I said okay, and told her I was now at the salon where I work.

I went back to the toilet after 10 minutes. When I arrived, I just stood there. There was a man there foreigner, maybe Thai or Vietnamese. After a while, the girl (the daughter) arrived. They were talking, but I couldn’t understand their language. I left and went back to the salon.

Then the phone rang again. The mother said, “They were there, but you weren’t at the place you mentioned.” I said, “I was there. Nobody asked.” Then I told her, “I will go out now from the salon. I will wait outside, in front of the salon.” The mother said okay.

I was standing there when suddenly a lady came up to me and asked, “Are you the one who found my phone?” I said yes. She smiled and was so happy, saying thank you endlessly.

Deep inside, my heart was full of happiness. Just a little act of kindness and being good people in our daily life it gives others hope and a positive mind.

Life is beautiful...

After long hours of work… even though I was tired… I still managed to smile and face the challenges of life.

On our way home from work, we passed by the supermarket.
Since I really love fruits, I saw golden kiwis and picked up two pieces.

While I was walking towards the weighing station, I came across a beautiful woman — a foreigner — but she was rude.
The way she said “excuse” felt like I was just an insect in her eyes.
But still, I smiled… and ignored her.

When I got to the cashier, there was an Arabic couple in front of me.
I placed my fruits down since I was already next.
But suddenly, the cashier said,
"Madam, is this kiwi yours?"
And I answered quickly,
"That’s mine."
But the Madam said,
"It’s okay, I’ll pay for it together."

And at that moment, I felt so blessed and happy.
Because even small acts of kindness from strangers… they really do happen in real life.
And they bring happiness to people.
