Gov. Kefas Presents ₦429bn 2025 Budget To Taraba Assembly

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba has presented a proposed 2025 budget of ₦429,898,968,402.31 before the state House of Assembly.
The ceremony took place in the hallowed Chamber of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Jalingo.
Governor Agbu Kefas explained that the budget encapsulated the vision for a more prosperous, inclusive and sustainable state, in order to achieve the moving forward agenda of his administration.
According to the Governor, the 2025 budget estimate of over two hundred and sixty-six billion naira, which accounts for 61.5%, is for capital expenditure, while over one hundred and sixty billion naira, which accounts for 38.1%, is for recurrent expenditure.
He noted that recurrent expenditure comprises personnel and overhead costs, while capital expenditure relates to the cost of infrastructures and other developmental projects.
The Governor explained that the budget is anchored on strategic investment tailored to drive growth, and enhanced quality life of the people.
According to him, the 2025 budget estimate was carefully prepared to consolidate the achievements of the 2024 budget, with a strategic focus on education, job creation, infrastructure, agriculture, security, and tourism, among others.
He added that the Taraba Master Development Plan will be the working document of the state in 2025, stating that the entire 2025 budget stood at
429,898,968,402.31
Earlier, John Kizito Bonzena, Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, commended the leadership of Agbu Kefas, which is responsible for the construction, remodeling, and reconstruction of several projects within and outside the state.
He pledged the assembly's resolve to give the bill an accelerated hearing for a timely passage.
