Mark Carney spent much of his career navigating some of the world’s biggest financial institutions before entering politics. Now, as Prime Minister, Canadians are watching closely to see whether that economic experience can translate into real improvements in everyday life.

Supporters argue that Canada needs someone who understands global markets, trade, investment, and economic uncertainty at the highest level. Critics argue that experience in finance doesn’t automatically mean someone understands the pressure facing ordinary Canadians dealing with rising housing costs, groceries, and bills.
