Every time the BBC plans one of tBBCr debate programmes in Dundee, they get in touch with us, but it’s always the same story. We’ve got a brilliant, talented team here, full of young people with real potential, and we’ve repeatedly asked them to consider offering internships or opportunities for these young folks. Every time, it’s ignored.

Yet, without fail, they come back year after year, asking for access, support, and promotion. But what are they giving back? Nothing at all.

We won’t be sharing or supporting anything they’re doing this time around. Because the reality is that they don’t care for the community. They’re here for the views, the engagement, the image that Dundee offers… without investing a thing into our people.

We’re not asking for money, just chances for the young ones. Real chances for young people to get experience, get off the streets, get into the media industry, and maybe even build a career from it. That’s not too much to ask.

Say what you want about us, but we genuinely care about this city and the people in it. And we’ll always speak up for the community when we see things aren’t right. ❤️
