Yolanda Bennett better known as The Herbal Trucker has been a cannabis advocate for more than seven years. Her passion comes from being forced out of the logistics and trucking industry due to a medical condition created from prescribed pharmaceuticals that caused damage to her organs and skeletal system. Even though Yolanda loved trucking and became a disabled truck driver, she still needed medic

ation and could not use what she felt was the best option for her; cannabis. Although her happiest days were behind the wheel, she retired as a truck driver and began the journey of advocacy. In 2018, Yolanda co-founded the Georgia Medical Cannabis Society Inc. to serve the community and satisfy her passion for accessibility and financial feasibility for medical cannabis. She decided she needed to enter the battle of freeing this plant from the grasp of those who shamed and criminalized this tree of life. As a former Correctional Officer, she has seen with her own eyes people lose their freedom and have their futures altered due to the possession of cannabis, and she has chosen to join the fight to normalize consumption and usage of this healing plant. Her mission has grown and evolved into a podcast powered by The CannaShame Network called the CannaShame Podcast which Yolanda is the co-owner and co-host. The CannaShame Podcast focuses on removing and destroying the stigmas associated with the use of cannabis. Yolanda also has a graphics company, YLB, which includes video editing, website creation, and content creation in the form of memes and graphics for social media. This amazing advocate has passion and drive which has led to her success. Yolanda is married, born and raised in Georgia, and enjoys the complexity of politics on a local level.

At the Georgia Medical Cannabis Society, we proudly stand with Americans for Safe Access in supporting the Medical Cannabis and Cannabinoid Act (MCCA)—a strategic step forward in protecting patients and formally recognizing cannabis as a legitimate form of medicine.

Far too many policies overlook the actual people who rely on cannabis for relief—those living with chronic pain, PTSD, cancer, seizure disorders, and more. Schedule VI isn’t just a classification—it’s a commitment to medical equity and national consistency.

🔍 Here’s why this matters:

Cannabis was placed in Schedule I based on politics, not science

Descheduling alone doesn’t guarantee access or protections

The MCCA introduces a new classification—Schedule VI—that finally treats cannabis as the complex therapeutic it is

This one right here… is personal. 🛑
Sometimes, when you have a forgiving heart, you overlook certain patterns. You excuse the silence, ignore the distance, and hope folks would show up like you would for them.

But truth is—
"Some folks don’t check on you until they see you moving."

They weren't there during the grind… the struggle… the stillness. But the moment they see progress—here they come. Not always to support… sometimes to benefit.

This is my reminder to myself—and maybe yours too—to stay aware. Forgiveness doesn’t mean blindness. You can have grace and boundaries. 🙏🏽

Stay focused. Protect your peace.

Everybody wants the results… the recognition… the benefits.
They want your business to succeed — as long as they don’t have to carry the weight that comes with it.

They don’t want the late nights.
They don’t want the pressure.
They don’t want the responsibility.

But they want the reward.

Truth is… there are days I want to quit.
Days I question if it’s even worth it.
But something in me won’t let me give up.
Because this work? It’s bigger than me.
