🩺 Why Schedule VI? Because Patients Deserve Better. 🌿
At the Georgia Medical Cannabis Society, we proudly stand with Americans for Safe Access in supporting the Medical Cannabis and Cannabinoid Act (MCCA)—a strategic step forward in protecting patients and formally recognizing cannabis as a legitimate form of medicine.

Far too many policies overlook the actual people who rely on cannabis for relief—those living with chronic pain, PTSD, cancer, seizure disorders, and more. Schedule VI isn’t just a classification—it’s a commitment to medical equity and national consistency.

🔍 Here’s why this matters:

Cannabis was placed in Schedule I based on politics, not science

Descheduling alone doesn’t guarantee access or protections

The MCCA introduces a new classification—Schedule VI—that finally treats cannabis as the complex therapeutic it is

📌 Under Schedule VI:
✔️ No criminal penalties
✔️ National oversight under HHS
✔️ Compassionate use frameworks
✔️ Safe interstate commerce
✔️ Licensing without discrimination for past convictions
✔️ Patient protections aligned with ADA standards

This one right here… is personal. 🛑
Sometimes, when you have a forgiving heart, you overlook certain patterns. You excuse the silence, ignore the distance, and hope folks would show up like you would for them.

But truth is—
"Some folks don’t check on you until they see you moving."

They weren't there during the grind… the struggle… the stillness. But the moment they see progress—here they come. Not always to support… sometimes to benefit.

This is my reminder to myself—and maybe yours too—to stay aware. Forgiveness doesn’t mean blindness. You can have grace and boundaries. 🙏🏽

Everybody wants the results… the recognition… the benefits.
They want your business to succeed — as long as they don’t have to carry the weight that comes with it.

They don’t want the late nights.
They don’t want the pressure.
They don’t want the responsibility.

But they want the reward.

Truth is… there are days I want to quit.
Days I question if it’s even worth it.
But something in me won’t let me give up.
Because this work? It’s bigger than me.

🚛Herbal Trucker Awakening Moment⏰

You ever notice how some folks only show up when they need your umbrella... ☂️
Not when you were in the storm... not when you were drowning... just when their skies get cloudy... 🌧️

But here’s the twist...
Some of ‘em get mad when you don’t need their umbrella no more... 😒
When you stop waiting on them to cover you... and you start covering yourself... and others too. 🧘🏾‍♀️☔

They liked it better when you were depending on them...
Not because they truly cared... but because control feels like power to the insecure... 🎭

And some folks? You used to share an umbrella with them...
Building together... walking side by side through the rain... or so you thought.
Until they realized your growth meant you’d need more than what they were willing to give.
They didn’t want a partner — they wanted someone to lean on so they could feel needed...
Helping you just enough to say they saved you, but never enough to truly rise together.

Let me say this...

Protect your peace... your time... your umbrella... ✌🏾
Don’t keep getting soaked while somebody else runs for cover under your kindness... 💧
And don’t shrink to fit under an umbrella that was never meant to shelter your growth... 🌱

It’s okay to help...
But it’s also okay to grow... to lead... to cover others with the same love you were once begging for... ❤️

You ain’t just surviving storms...
You’re becoming shelter...
And that shakes the ones who only felt strong when you were still getting wet beside them.

And sometimes the strongest move you can make... is learning to float... 🌊

No... this ain’t a retreat... this ain’t surrender... this is something called strategy... ♟️
Sometimes you gotta step back and create a new avenue... a different lane... to fight the same battle with better vision and wiser moves... 🛣️🧠

This moment right here... it’s about choosing peace over chaos... ☮️
It’s about knowing when to pull back... when to protect your energy... and when to let life carry you to clarity... 🧘🏾‍♀️✨

I’ve learned through struggle, pain, and growth that you don’t always have to come out swinging... 💥
You just have to stay grounded in who you are... and trust that stillness speaks louder than noise... 🧘🏾‍♂️💬

What if Georgia trusted its doctors the way Hawaii just did?

Hawaii has taken a major step forward in cannabis reform — passing legislation that allows healthcare providers to recommend medical cannabis for any condition they believe it can benefit. This is a bold, compassionate move that puts patients and providers first.

Meanwhile in Georgia, despite progress with HB 227 and SB 220, both bills stalled out after crossover. We remain one of the few states with a limited low-THC oil registry, capped at 5% THC and no more than 20 fluid ounces, rather than a true medical cannabis program.

This isn’t about politics — it’s about access, equity, and science-based care.
