Sana hindi pa kayo nauumay sa Olympics. hahaha.

Bisita natin si Dr. Vic Villan ng UP Department of History para pag-usapan ang isa pang anggulong pulitikal:

Ito ay ang Laro, Palaro at Sports.

Ang Laro ay taal na umusbong mula sa kultural na karanasan ng mga tao.

Ang Palaro ay organisadong kumpetisyon ng estado.

Ang sports naman ay pandaigdigang pagkontrol ng mga makapangyarihang pwersang internasyunal. Halimbawa, bakit hindi kasama sa Olympics ang mga palarong kagaya ng Wushu o Kali/Arnis o Sepak Takraw?

Malamang kakapusin na naman ang isang oras mamaya, hahaha. Pero kahit bitin sana samahan nyo pa rin kami!

Tatlong lebel ng pulitika ang pag-uusapan natin:

1) Pulitika ng mga indibidwal o grupo ng mga atleta

2) Sports at domestic politics ng mga bansa

3) Sports at pulitika sa pagitan ng mga bansa (International Relations)

After September 2013, Aquino 3rd's popularity began falling surely and steadily until May 2016, creating an opportunity for the political outsider Duterte to harvest the massive anti-Aquino 3rd votes.

There is no way that Duterte becomes president without the epic collapse of Aquino 3rd.

And Aquino 3rd's collapse from a 76-percent trust ratings president to someone who engenders hate and loathing was undeniably self-inflicted.

Super Typhoon Yolanda in November 2013 was devastating, but it was not the first time the country experienced a destructive act of God. But the way the Aquino 3rd administration handled it was worse than a train wreck captured in slow motion.

And it was all self-inflicted.

No one forced Aquino 3rd to act so insensitively toward the victims. No one forced him to reportedly tell Kenneth Yu Uy, a young Tacloban businessman who was shot in the looting and violence that came in the aftermath of Yolanda, "Eh buhay ka pa naman, 'di ba?"

Yolanda wasn't the first. No one forced Aquino 3rd to be unapologetic and insensitive toward the people of Hong Kong for the unnecessary death of their countrymen during the Luneta hostage-taking crisis in 2010. Hong Kong remembers until now.

The list goes on and on.

No one forced Aquino 3rd to say "I don't attend the wakes of people I don't know" as he skipped transgender murder victim Jennifer Laude's wake in 2014.

No one forced him to skip the arrival of the dead bodies of the SAF-44 heroes to attend a Mitsubishi plant inauguration in January 2015 and be insensitive to the families' deafening pleas for justice ("Namatay rin ang tatay ko... patas na rin tayo ngayon").

Nobody forced him to downplay the "laglag-bala" airport scam targeting overseas Filipino workers in late 2015.

It was so ironic because Aquino 3rd often referred to himself as "Ama ng Bayan."

Don't be surprised why people are reacting so strongly to Aquino 3rd's death. You cannot be.

One thing is undeniable though: in becoming the 16th President of the Republic of the Philippines, Rodrigo Duterte has nobody but Aquino 3rd to thank. Salamat, PNoy!

Kaya kailangan ipagpatuloy ang laban…

Samahan n’yo ‘ho kami sa nalalapit na pagbubukas ng LRT-2 East Extension (Marikina and Antipolo Stations)!

Noon ‘ho, umaabot sa tatlong (3) oras ang biyahe mula Recto, Manila hanggang Antipolo, Rizal gamit ang bus o jeepney.

Ngayon, dahil sa pagsasakatuparan ng LRT-2 East Extension, na pinagsumikapan ‘ho ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) at Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA), nasa 40 MINUTES NA LAMANG ANG BIYAHE mula Recto hanggang Antipolo via train!

Tinatayang nasa 80,000 ang bilang ng mga pasaherong maidadagdag nito kada araw sa kabuuang linya ng LRT-2. Ibig sabihin, mula sa dating 240,000 passengers, ay aabot na sa 320,000 passengers ang kaya nitong maserbisyuhan.

Maliban sa ginhawang dala ng proyekto, naging susi rin ‘ho ang LRT-2 East Extension upang mabigyan ng trabaho ang ating mga kababayan.

Tara na sa Antipolo at Marikina!
