2023 is a new year, with new joys and challenges ahead! Welcome to a raw look into our morning routine on the sailboat, where we cook up some pancakes, play guitar, and do some engine maintenance (we change the starter on our M-30 Universal diesel engine)! Looking back, 2022 was a stormy year. Snowstorms, windstorms, ice, rain, crashing waves, and blistering heat. We started last year sleeping in a pile of snow, and finished the year covered in it again.

Jonas and I sat down together and remembered everything that happened last year. We came up with three big themes and some intentions to keep moving forward.

Snowstorm warning!! I was solo this week, and this is the most snow that has ever fallen on our little sailboat home, and this time it stuck! Living on board a sailboat keeps us close to the weather, but we had never seen something like this. An arctic airmass brought unusually cold (freezing) temperatures and turned our marina into an icy-winter-wonderland!

New video is up! We’ve had a very stormy winter living aboard our sailboat. La Niña continues to reminds us of her powers… with snow storms, high winds, and atmospheric rivers that often bring freezing temperatures and leave the boat jostling all night. After 3 years living aboard, these events are becoming just another one of our routines. We’re learning to work with nature rather than trying to fight it. But every once in a while, we find ourselves pulled in a different direction.

We're finally back with a new video!

This short video is a little different from our normal vlog-type content, but we hope you enjoy some footage from a sail and kayak trip we took earlier this summer. We took advantage of a breezy day to get Blue Moon off her mooring, and we learn a little more each time. We then traded in our sails for paddles, and toured a tandem kayak around the bay, with a very special view of our favourite neighbours (a heard of seals)!

Thank you for everyone’s patience and understanding when we took a couple weeks off to deal with some personal matters. We’ll give you a bit of a life update in coming videos, but for now we wanted to share some sailing and kayaking we did to send off summer!

Hey Everyone! We wanted to hop on here and give you a bit of an update. Sorry about the abrupt break from our posting... All is good here, but unfortunately life handed us some obstacles that needed to be dealt with quickly, which also meant we haven't been able to edit or film anything for the past few weeks. We've already updated our Patrons on what's been going on, and will make a video with a "life update" in the next few weeks to explain why we haven't been as active on here.

But for now, we're working to get back on track and have a fun little video for this Sunday, showing you some of the adventures we've gone on to kick off the end of the summer! We're so excited to be back :D
